What a difference it makes to decide to be selfish about your health! In years past, when I decided to try to loose weight, it was always about looking better to impress others. Well, that mindset is now gone! I've finally decided its not about a number on a scale that makes me, its about how I feel about myself that makes me. I finally decided to get FIT for myself. Now that I'm not worried about everyone else, its all starting to make sense and fall into place. Spark has been a wonderful place for me to record my journey.

A few things about me:
I'm the mother of a son and a daughter. I am married to a wonderful man of God that has loved me thin, fat, in between... He's loved me for me, not my weight. I'm trying to learn to walk more with Christ, and that is way harder than getting fit. I've been fervently trying to complete the C25K program. I have NOT graduated from it yet, but I'm conquering running little by little. I have PCOS, but it's no longer a crutch for me to make excuses about not being fit. Does it stink to have it? Yes. Does it make loosing weight harder? Yes. Does it define me? No. I now define me. I have an amazing support system of women who encourage me, who workout with me, and who love me on my bad days.

Currently my workout program is Power90 and C25K. I try to workout 5 days per week, twice daily. I have completed two 5k races and I've promised myself one per month to keep me accountable. I have ordered a Polar F11 HRM that I will start averaging my calorie burn on to help with my calories in/calories out ratio.

I'm trying to figure out the food thing. I do try to eat fresh, whole foods and limit my carbs, although I LOVE ice cream, but limit myself to once per week. My water consumption is about 95% of what I drink. I do enjoy a cup of coffee and I like unsweet tea (and that my friends is a sin in the south!)

I am DONE making excuses for not being more active.
I am DONE letting others dictate how my life goes.
I am DONE accepting anything so i won't make others mad.
I am DONE waiting to live.

My Goals:
To get fit. Praise the Lord, the scale is no longer an obsession! I'm committed to getting healthy, not relying completely on a number on a scale. I try to choose food wisely and get at least 5 days of exercise in. I'm learning that I enjoy jogging. I also love that I take a women's PE class every week, participating in the Presidential Physical Fitness Program and I'm in a women's BodyFit class at my church. I really LOVE fitness.
