Finding Balance
I admittedly am in the infancy of what I hope will become a meaningful spiritual journey. I am working towards balance in my life. I am searching for meaning and truth and light. I am searching for a higher self. A self who does not use food as a crutch and who spends more time enjoying her life than fretting over it. A woman who does not define her worth by a number on the scale.

I am a mother of a daughter with special needs. According to recent studies, women like me age faster, get sick more often and die sooner than any other highly stressed individuals. I'm hoping to find balance when it comes to her needs and her development, and my role in both.
Balance has become my mantra. I picture myself in harmony with my family, my friends, my self. Strong. Able to forgive and let go and move on. I picture myself at peace and understanding with the Life Force, or the Divine, or god/goddess, or whatever it may be. I picture myself, healthy, and comfortable in my own skin.

To be able to look in the mirror without criticism.
My Program:
Stay within my calorie range, drink 8 glasses of water a day, exercise 3x a week.
Personal Information:
I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, Unitarian and friend. My daughters are the center of my universe and the Light in my soul. My youngest has a rare brain disorder called hemimegalencephaly. She had radical brain surgery at 28 days old and is globally delayed.
Raising a child with special needs has changed my life in many ways. I know that I over eat to compensate for the emotional toll it takes on my life. Finding healthier solutions has been difficult.
