They say "good stuff comes in small packages" and I'm definitely in a stubby package!!! 5' nothin' Working my way from 184 on down, slowly but surely.

I hope to lose 50 lbs. At only 5" tall I really have way too much weight on my short frame. Diabetes runs on my side of the family and my husband (out of the blue) became a diabetic several years ago.

As a young woman, I grew up in a very physical, outdoorsy family. I didn't have a weight prob then, but after 3 great kids -the lbs. have crept on. I can't believe I've allowed myself to gain this much weight - who is that woman in the mirror? I need to take better care of me and make healthier choices.

I love to read. Try Karen Kingsbury - any book by her will make you cry, but lift your spirits - also Jan Karon, Richard Evans, Nicholas Sparks. We all need inspiration. I'm a librarian in a small town, a Sunday School Superintendent and teach 9-12 teens in Sunday School.
