Time for an update. I joined SparkPeople in April and already I've slipped away. I only lost about 3 pounds, gained it back, lost it, gained it back. At this point I'm not even sure where things stand. I do think it helps to record everything I eat, however I find it all so time consuming. I have had a very busy summer, part of why I fell behind, did lots of traveling. I'm going away again in August to Alaska, can't wait! I have seen pictures of myself from some of the trips I've been on recently and I don't like the way I look. Hate it in fact! Why does it take seeing pictures of yourself to make a change, I mean I see myself in the mirror everyday, I don't get it! Anyway, I'm back at it, hope I can last longer this time and I see better results this time around. I would love to get out and walk in the morning. There are so many places near by, but I keep finding stuff to do around my house to keep me from going, just every day stuff, like laundry & dishes & cleaning. I walk the dog with my husband almost every night but I need more. Why can't I just get out there and do it?! I even walked the neighborhood with some friends but eventually things just get in the way and they can't go or I can't go and so it all fell apart. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

My Goals:
I want to gain back that healthy lifestyle I once had. Would like to lose about 30 pounds but I don't want to obsess over that. I want to WOW myself and my husband once again!

My Program:
I am going to try to eat more healthy and exercise more. I walk almost every day already, I need to turn it up a notch or two. I also snack too much, most likely because I skip meals, then I'm starving (duh!) so then I snack. I usually skip breakfast & lunch then I snack then I have dinner. I'm working hard on eating a healthy breakfast & lunch, snack healthy if necessary then healthy dinner. I am doing better but I still have a ways to go!

Personal Information:
My name is Debbie (or Deb) I am from what used to be a rural area in Lehigh Valley, Pa. but it has grown out of control. I really wish they would stop taking away all the farmland and stop building houses! Enough already! I work part time as an Instructional Assistant for 4th & 5th grade, learning support class. I am a Girl Scout Leader (along with my oldest daughter) of 10 girls ages 12 to 16 (my youngest daughter is the 16 year old). Looking forward to helping her earn her Gold Award. She has some great ideas in the making!

Other Information:
I am the mother of 3 grown children (well almost)- 2 girls ages 26 and 16 (yep that's right, 10 years apart) and a 23 year old son who promises to live with us till we grow old, gee thanks! I enjoy quiet, family weekends up the mountains along with some hiking,(but that's a struggle) love to read, wish I had more time for that, and enjoy doing cross stitch but I can't remember the last time I did! Love the song 'Stronger Woman' by Jewel! Listen to the lyrics they are great words to live by!!
