Reclaiming my life...

I've worked out regularly since college but the need to diet was a late occurance and lots of bad eating habits were well ingrained by the time I needed to lose weight.

Balanced diet, of course...having a cardia dietslapped me in the face in July. Strange thing was having my son say, "how could this happen? Your diet is great?" Turns out there is a lot to that aspirin a day.

I have a weight routine that I call my "over 35" routine (guess it is now my "over 50" routine) that consists of a 12-8-8-12 pattern of three excercises of each main body part divided over three workouts each week.

I aimed for at least 3 cardio days each week and at least one day a wee, but life in NYC and the puchaseof a pedometer has pushed me into the 5+ day/ week pattern (who knew I could ever do this!) I now walk a minimum of 5 miles everyday.

The cardiologist has had me on a "no exercise" restriction until my second stent, but that occured September 17 and I am holding my breath awaiting clearance and going a little stir crazy.



Personal Information:
I'm from everywhere and at times I feel like I'm from no where...my family moved alot when I was a kid...formative years in the mid west, but landed in the south and have lived in the south the longest (but have never felt like a southerner)...anywhere from Ohio to Iowa feels like home when I visit. I was in a rather demanding healthcare field for 10 years but have made a lateral move to a health care career with much more personal satisfaction and control of my own schedule.
