Hi! I'm a quirky 40-something Canadian. I love my dog, gardening, knitting, and learning new things. Sometimes I'm intense, but mostly I'm a space cadet. I think that my weight issues reflect my general beingness, which can be described as this.....multi-non tasking! I neglect whatever I'm not currently focused on. I usually forget to eat and then stuff myself with the first high calorie high fat thing I can find. I also stuff myself with carbs when I am overwhelmed and stressed to the max--to get to that "numb feeling." My goal in joining Spark People is to become more grounded, more present, more mindful--to make healthy choices and to plan ahead.

My Goals:
I'd like to reach my goal weight by December 15, 2010, so that I can go on vacation and not worry about what to eat.

My Program:
I am tracking my calories, both those that I'm eating and those that I'm burning off. I exercise at least 5 times a week, with my boyfriend, and I still indulge in my favourite "bad" foods--but those calories are counted!!!!

Personal Information:
I live in Kitchener, Ontario. I work for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, so I'm commuting everyday. I am updating my house, getting ready to sell it. My favourite person is my dog, Spike!!! He is a 14 year old Shepherd Mix.

Other Information:
I started my health kick last year. I stopped drinking coke at 11:30AM June 24, 2009. At the same time, my boyfriend has been encouraging me to exercise more often.
I've lost 29 lbs so far!
