The recent (April 22) death of my husband has left me feeling sad and lifeless, but as I continue to wake up every day and reality sets in I know I have to keep moving foreward. I have reached my high weight of 225 again; this is where I started in '09. Part of me feels like it doesn't matter anymore, but the reality s that it DOES matter...a lot! I just have to figure out how to take care of my by myself; cook for me (not the junk food habit I have fallen in to) and make healthy choices for me. This proves to be harder than it sounds sometimes, but the one thing I know is this; SparkPeople has everything I need and I need to rededicate myself.
I have re-set my pages, starting over, on this site as in my life; finding a new begining.

Goals for the next 3 months are as follows:

1.. Follow training program to build strength, stamina and endurance

2. eat nutritious meals fruits and vegetables

3. Track work-outs and nutrition.

4. Measure portions

5. Weigh NO MORE than twice a week

MY NAME IS EVELYN AND I LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA. I'M A NURSE CASE MANAGER; PRIMARILY WITH BRAIN INJURY (BOTH TRAUMATIC AND NON TRAUMATIC). I REALLY LOVE MY JOB.

I HAVE ONE SON AND 3 GRANDCHILDREN. THEY MEAN THE WORLD TO ME!
I WANT TO BE AROUND TO PLAY WITH THEM, TEACH THEM AND LEARN FROM THEM! I WANT TO PASS ON A LEGACY OF HEALTHY AND FUN!

I'VE SPENT A LIFETIME OF UNHEALTHY HABITS AND I'M WORKING HARD TO TURN THAT AROUND. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN A STRUGGLE, BUT AFTER I BECAME SERIOUS ABOUT REACHING MY GOALS, AND IMPLEMENTING A PLAN FOR REACHING THEM IT'S BECOME MORE LIKE SECOND NATURE, A HABIT. FINALLY IN MY LIFE I HAVE DEVELOPED MORE HEALTHY HABITS AND I'M ENJOYING MY LIFE. I'M ABLE TO DO THINGS THAT I COULD ONLY DREAM ABOUT, AND I'M JUST GETTING STARTED! THERE IS SO MUCH MORE I PLAN TO DO. I AM SUCCEEDING! AND VERY HAPPY!

    It's been a while since I have been on the website. I use the app on my phone so much I had forgotten how to add a friend as well. LOL. Anyway, I just went on there to figure it out and I do believe you should have a link above the groups section on the right hand side that says "find friend" I think that's how you go about it. LOL. You can always visit the fitbit users unite team here on SP and someone there may remember how to add friends if that doesn't work.

    I eat by Spark People's recommendations. lol. I nutrition track here only. I didn't like fitbit's nutrition tracking. If you track over here though, I think it does show up over on fitbit. =)

    Omg that was so funny Evelyn. I agree I would not want the news showing me like that. Of course I'd have to have a boob job first! That made my day. Well, tomorrow I'm off to Door County 8 of us women rented a house for the weekend and I love the start you gave me.

    Thanks Evelyn for the weights goodie. I love my weights and have toned up greatly from using them even though I only do it 3 times a week for 20 minutes.
