I am a 58 year old who has had weight issues for most of my life (actually Mom used to say I was the cutest little butterball - so I would say all my life) I have had some successes, but they were temporary.
This time I hope to make it a lifestyle, to overcome the momentary failures, and keep moving forward - as I read here two steps forward and one step back is still forward motion, as long as you don't give up!
UPDATE! Guess who gave up!%^&%$%^ -
So now I am a 67 year old -who had enormous success with Sparkpeople in 2010, losing 70 pounds - and then I got cocky/lazy (gads- I don't know what it was!!!) and quit trying, quit caring (quit caring enough) but I am back! I was watching a you tube video last night about an 80+ year old who started working out late in life, and now she lifts weights - her body looks no older than 45, and she is strong!!!! Her message is that anyone can do it and it is NEVER too late
Please pray for me - send good thoughts my way - I will do the same for all of you!

    Up late....My little goofygirl!! Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the goodies you sent and that you cared enough to check on me. After my mother died, I was busy taking care of my dad and rest of the family and just couldn't get back in the spark thing. It's a very busy month but I hope to get back to it in Jan.     I saw an activity award show up in the friend feed for you, and realized you are active again. That's awesome.
    I hope you are doing well.
    I am active again, and doing pretty good on my progress. Down 30 lbs since June, and feeling really good about life.
    I hope we can re-connect like we did, and pick up and walk together towards health.

    Hi Mary - it's been a long time but I still think of you often. How are you doing now? I've lost my Spark for about 9 months and gained some weight but I finally got my head on straight and am in the losing mode once again. I hope all is well in your corner of the world!
