My journey to a healthy lifestyle began in 2010. Well, that's when I got serious about it. My health wasn't good and I was so inactive. At the time my girls were 9 & 5. I wanted to be an active & fit mom.

I first began with tracking WW points January 2010, then I was introduced to SparkPeople in July 2010. (Just had my 7 year anniversary) The weight was slowly coming off, but it was coming off. I just kept at it. 20 pounds were gone by September 2010.

Over the years I dropped the weight and was within a few pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight before having my 2nd daughter, who at the time was 5. I managed to maintain and keep the weight off ~ I was down 30 pounds in 2012! In mid-year 2014 we decided to sell our house & move.

I had gained back a few pounds during the house selling/packing/moving, but not anything that was too drastic. It was 5-7 pounds. I figured once we were all settled I'd get back to it and get those pounds off. Then the beginning of 2015 life came to a screeching hault with family issues. When emotional issues happen, I eat. Boy, did I eat. Within 2015 I had gained all of my weight back that I had worked so hard to lose & maintain for 5 years! I was, am, so angry at myself for letting the evil of the whole situation get the best of me & lose what I worked so hard for.

Life finally has been settling down - but there are still life's daily trials. I am an emotional eater and probably always will be. I know I need to find better ways of dealing with it. Some days I do, others not so much. I have to be honest. This saying holds so much truth, "what you eat in private, you wear in public" ... Isn't that the truth!

That's why I'm writing this today (7/21/17). I want to get back on track to losing weight & feeling better. I want to be a healthy example to my daughters, that you can still live and have fun but be healthy about it too. When food is involved it's about moderation & tracking. I must get back to tracking. My fitness is there. Just recently took up walk/jog workouts 3x a week and do I dare say, I'm kind of liking it???

I don't know if this is so much to help motivate someone else that may stumble upon my page or more for myself. To remind me of what I am certainly capable of as long as I have the motivation to do it, the desire to really want it and the determination to keep pushing forward! I just gotta remember, this is a journey to a healthy lifestyle. There will be ups/downs & dead ends. I just have to remember to push through & work around those obstacles and let NOTHING get in the way of my goals! I can do this!!!
