Hi, I am a 59 yr old female. I have 80 pounds to lose. I suffer from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, copd, post polio syndrome, and degenerative disc disease. Because of depression, and my physical condition my weight has skyrocketed over the past 8 years. Before then I was always thin. I am determined to lose this weight and keep it off.

I joined Spark in Jan 2013. I haven't been on here in a while because my life has went through drastic changes and much stress. Through all of it, I have stayed on my lifestyle change. It would sometimes have been so easy to go back to my emotional eating. I refuse to go back to where I was in January. I have lost 50 pounds and have 32 to go. My husband is my greatest supporter. I would have never came this far without him.

My Goals:
To continue to lose the weight. Keep moving and not let the stressors of life interfere with my goals. My health has already improved and I am anxious to see it improve more.

My Program:
I eat healthy foods. Plenty of fresh vegetables. Limit red meat to once a week. Not beat myself up when I occasionally splurge. Do to physical problems, I am unable to do rigorous exercise but I strive to walk more and I get most of my exercise from working in my flowerbeds and yard.

Hi, I am Georgia. I am 59 years old. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 43 yrs. I have 1 son, and a niece that I raised as my child. I have 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. My family is everything to me. I want to live to see my grandchildren grow up and have children of their own. I live in a small town in central Oklahoma.

Other Information:
I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy fishing, gardening, reading, and playing games on my computer.
My idea of a perfect time is to go to my son's 40 acres in the country, cooking out, listening to the night sounds late in the evening, sitting around the pond.

    Hi, I'm from across the state line in Arkansas and I'm a grandma too. I have a niece in Muskogee. I'm 57 and have around 70 or 80 pounds more to lose. I've only been a member of Sparkpeople since January this year. I love it.

    Getting enough vitiiman D is important for depression. Sitting in the Sun or turning on a lot of lights can make a big difference. If there is a part of you that you can move I encourage you to do so. Exercise is good for depression. Check you library or here on SP's and see if there are exercises you can do in spite of your health issues. emoticon
