Hi! I'm a graduate student from Georgia. I just got started May 2010 and hope to meet my goal weight by May 2011.

Fitness Minutes: 4,431

My Goals:
Take a daily multivitamin.

Do something active outdoors every day.

Lose at least 1lb/week.

Run/walk at least 3 miles a week. Hoping to participate in a 5k in winter/spring.

My Program:
Following the SparkPeople nutrition goals, eating 1200-1500 cal/day of low sodium, low fat foods with daily exercise of some type (I have a variety of things I do, since I get bored easily). I like the way things are going now, because it's a no-fuss, easy program to follow.

I lost a good deal of weight before doing South Beach and intensive gym exercise several days a week, but found that the program was not terribly sustainable for me, especially because I was so strict with myself. I like bread, and I found that I don't like going to the gym. Now I'm eating pretty much everything I want, in moderation (plus using the nutrition tracker to make sure I'm within my calorie goals), and I have purchased light equipment for home use and gotten involved in some outdoor activities, which are much more fun that mindless repetitive activities in the meat market that is my local gym.

Personal Information:
I'm a graduate student from Georgia, getting close to graduation and working on losing the lbs I gained in grad school. I'm also hoping to get married in the next couple years, and want to look great in my wedding dress!

    Hello and emoticon to SparkPeople!! This has been one of the best places I've ever been for weight loss, goal setting and support. The people on the site are absolutely FANTASTIC! You won't find anywhere else as positive and supportive.

    My advice to you -

    1. Use the nutrition tracker! It is an invaluable tool to you!
    2. Create your SparkPage and make sure it's set so others can see it! It is the best way for other members to connect with you!
    3. Get involved with message boards and teams! My favorite SparkTeam is (((( Sending SKINNY Vibes! ))))
    4. Don't be too hard on yourself! If you slip up or have a bad day, remember that it's not about being perfect, it's about learning to live a new LIFE!
