Howdy! I'm a working wife and mom staring 40 down the barrel, and I need to get my act together if I have any chance of being around long enough to see my grandkids grow up... the usual, yet truthful story.

While I may have a few obstacles in my path, I am committed to taking control of as much as I can and reaching my goals.

My Goals:
Several goals:

1. Get below 200 for the first time since before my son was born.

2. Reduce the risk of the diseases that run in my family (diabetes, heart disease).

3. Feel better about myself - even if I'm not where I want to be on the scale, I want to feel better just because I'm TRYING, and haven't thrown in the towel!

My Program:
 Weight Watchers - can't give them enough credit. It's never failed me - I've failed the program. But I am back in the saddle and riding this horse into the sunset! I'm glad I found Spark People, I truly think it will provide additional information and motivation.


Personal Information:
As noted previously, I am a wife (almost 19 years!) and mom to 2 teens: daughter 18, moving 3.5 hours away this Fall (*sniffsniff*), and a son, 16, who's warming up his wings as well.

    Thank you for your lovely comments. I see you said you have a cabin in Michigan? Do you by chance know where or any good spots to hunt mushrooms there? Years ago we went mushroom hunting in michigan and found so many, we even had lots to bring back, but I cant for the life of me remember where we went. and i dont know who to ask about where we might go, next year. Also good luck with your daughter, if you ever need to talk , just give me a holler.

    Just checking out your page. You have a beautiful family. Curious about the turtle though. do u have a pet turtle? we were given a refoot turtle about 6 weeks about. I can also relate to your daughter moving away. My middle daughter, whom I am EXTREMELY close too had to move to Texas, almost 1 yr. ago. . due to her new hubbys job. I still cry at least once a week missing her. so good luck with that. i am still trying to figure out a way to move closer to her...lol Pam
