Hey! My name's Andi. I'm a Junior at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Middle Grades Education - Language Arts (even though I still dream of one day being a rockstar...haha!). Working with people (especially children) means a lot to me and has always been a huge part of my life. I love to help others and love to be there when people need me (which is why becoming a teacher means a lot to me and will be a profession that I think I will truly enjoy).

I am a huge fan of SparkPeople. I think this website is really useful to bring those of us who are trying desperately to lose weight, tone our bodies, lead healthier lives and, most importantly, feel good about ourselves

3rd time on the site - here we go again, right? My 2nd time on here failed. The first time I was here...(well, on SparkTeen)...I lost around 40 lbs. It was great to watch my body change over just a few short months. I'm back again but not for a vacation or anything like that. This time, I'm back for me. I want to live healthier. I want to tone up my body. I want to learn to cook meals that are healthy for me (which is why I now watch a lot of Food Network as well). I want a lot of things and I believe that this site (along with a lot of self-motivation) can help me achieve my goals.

Please know that I am here for each and everyone of you. I'm a great listener and give out pretty good advice (or so I'm told). Feel free to come to me about anything, whether it's weight related or not. I'm always here for anyone! :)

I officially start back January 1, 2010. I'm scared. Scared that I won't succeed. Scared that I won't be able to do this. Scared that I'm going to gain weight instead of lose it. Just scared. I could definitely use some SparkBuddies to keep my motivation up!

My Goals:
Lose Weight

Feel good about myself and my body

Be able to wear a bikini without feeling self-conscious.

Run 2-3 miles with my friends.

Play sports and run around with my friends without being really embarrassed by my body.


My Program:
Well, I'm actually going to make myself eat veggies. Fruits too - but I actually like those.

Also, UNC is a great place to just walk...and walk...and walk (at least once a day).

I want to be able to jog 2-3 miles without feeling winded and out of shape.

I plan on actually sticking to my strength exercises.
