I am a 40 somethinger from upstate Vermont. Like everyone else out there I am a fairly busy person. I really need some motivation and direction in my life right now. One of my best friends has been a member this community and thought that I would benefit from the support and understanding that is found here. I am overwhelmed with all the content and wonderful open feeling that I am finding. Thank you in advance for all the caring and connections that I am going to gain from SparksPeople.

I have always been heavy and now that I will never be the picture perfect size 10 or below. I do want to be healthier and happier in my own skin. I had Gastric Bypass April 2005 and lost an amazing 120 lbs. in seven months and mantained for 5 months. I was diagnosed with an Ulcer with a small staple line disruption in my stomach. I went 2 years and 3 months before this issue was corrected. and gained 70 lbs. back. Since June 9 I have dropped 45 lbs. I have another 25 to get to the starting of my tummy issues. At that point I will have 40 pounds to get to my goal weight.

I am very fortunate to have a spouse who loves me for me and understands my goals without the judgement that I know many people have to bear. We have been commited to each other for nearly 20 years and share out lives with three kitties and the 2 cutest pomeranians in the world. When we are not working 40 hours for someone else we have a professional BBQ team that competes all over New England and cater.

I was an avid quilter but with the lack of energy and a few other health issues I have been neglecting that part of my world. I feel guilty about it also, because I feel so relaxed and happy when I actually do sit down and sew. My quilting partner is in the same place with weight and I will be helping her join also....we need to get some more friends for her to share life with.

My Goals:
My goals are very simple...get healthy to live a happier life.

My husband has run 5 marathons. I would like to be the one crossing the finish line instead of standing around waiting for him.

My Program:
I excersise 4-5 times a week at a gym and watch what I eat. I do not eat many carbohydrates, stay away from fats and try to eat loads of vegetables and fruits.
