Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, I'm married with a five year old daughter. Needless to say, since June first, I've mapped out what I want to do with the rest of my life. Back in 2004 I was involved in a car accident in which I broke my neck in two places, smashed my right orbital bone, and had over two hundred sutures in my scalp. I had to learn how to walk again, how to write, and it took a very long time to focus my thoughts to where everything wasn't jumbled. After being put on a 'rest' for six months where I was not allowed to do anything like work, the weight started stacking on. By August 19th 2005 (the day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter), I had gone from a size 13/14 to a size eighteen. Then came the problems with my pregnancy. I had gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. I was put on bed rest at seven months, and total I had gained 65 pounds. The day I gave birth to my TEN pound baby, I was 320 pounds. With it being a C-section, I needed time to heal. But then I started to make excuses. 'I just had the baby, I need to rest'. etc etc. Which leads me to 2011. My husbands grandmother passed away from a mixture of obesity, diabetes, kidney failure, and general un-healthiness. So my mother in law came to us and 'Challenged' us. To loose 25 pounds by Christmas. At first I was like Suuuure! But then I thought... why stop at 25 pounds? Something in my head clicked, and then I became angry. I was going to take this 'Challenge' one step further. I wanted to finish my dream that I entertained four years ago- to follow in my Father-In-Law's steps, and go into the Navy. So here I am! As of June 1st, I weighed in at 337 pounds. I purchased a treadmill and a stationary bike (which are now filling a majority of my living room), I stopped drinking soda, and I joined a Zumba class with some girls at work. I'm going to do this. I'm going to take it seriously. Because I need to be 174 pounds to be in the Navy, and my goal is to be signing those papers with a recruiter by the end of 2012. LET'S DO THIS!

My Goals:
My goals.... I want to be healthy, and I want to be happy. I want to live a long time and be there for my daughter. But my short term goal? Lose enough weight to join the NAVY by the end of 2012!


My Program:
I have completely cut out soda and sugars etc from my diet. If it's white, it ain't right. No breads unless it's wheat. I'm working out five days a week, taking Zumba classes three days a week!



Personal Information:
I currently live in New Jersey, although I lived in Florida my entire life, up until 2010. I am married, have a five year old daughter, and three cats who drive me crazy. I have three bros and sisters and five step siblings. Seventeen nephews and neices :)


Other Information:
I'm a Twilight fan!! And a NASCAR fan! I love to read and write, and I follow certain television shows religiously (Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Suits, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss, NY Ink, The Biggest Loser, Police Women of Broward County)

TODAY.......look in the mirror and make friends with who is looking back. find comfort that who is looking back at you, will take you to the heights of success...if you let her(him)
