My first Spark Trophies date back to 2009. I have had weight issues since childhood and I have tried many different diet plans that didn't last. Just like you. My yo-yo dieting has left me discouraged, frustrated, and feeling hopeless at times.

Since 2009 I have continued the struggle. Some times on program and some times off. After all these years I have not lost hope of achieving my goal and so I remain a SP fan.

2013 I trained for my first 5K, learned about fatloser.com and
The Beck Solution, and had my first hip replacement!
2014 I had my second hip replacement.
2015 I took the year off from the diet world and celebrated life!
2016 I struggled all year with a knee injury
2017 I am determined to succeed this year! My goals are:
1. Feeling calm & peaceful
2. Ditching the negative self-talk
3. Finding balance in my life between the Physical,
Emotional, Intellectual, & Spiritual
4. Getting more fit by building muscle strength
5. Eating healthy & losing 10#

2018 Life felt very overwhelming at times, but I made some progress during the past year in finding BALANCE IN LIFE -
1. Journaling has helped me release some of those things that do not serve me well so I have more calm & peace in my brain.
2. Embracing The Weight Loss Journey team and Rejuvenation Yoga has helped build my self-esteem.
3. Working with a Personal Trainer has helped make me stronger.
4. My morning devotional time has strengthened my relationship with God.

The 10 Reasons I Want To Lose Weight:
1. I want to be at my goal weight once and for all.
2. I want to eat to live instead of living to eat.
3. I want to be master of my food.
4. I want to get rid of the rolls I see on my body.
5. I want to increase my strength so I can do more push-ups and lunges with better form.
6. I want to be proud of myself for doing what I said I would do.
7. I want to feel like a heathy person - Fit * Active * Balanced * Strong!
8. I want to feel mentally comfortable around all kinds of food.
9. I want to feel that I deserve to join the Maintenance Team
10. I want to be a healthy example and roll model for others.

My Long Term Goals for 2018 are the same as they were for 2017 because I am a work in progress, but I will be fine tuning them more for better consistency:
1. Log in daily to SP.
2. Drink my 8 glasses of H2O daily.
3. Only weigh once a week.
4. 10 minutes fitness daily.
5. Get up at 7 a.m. without hitting the snooze button.
6. No mindless night time eating.

Looking For My WHY -

From my friend, Gill - To be as healthy as you can be.
I am amazed at how much more confident, happy, alive, energetic, pain-free I feel.

".. every pound of weight loss results in five pounds of stress taken off your knees, seven pounds off your ankles, and a whopping ten pounds off your spinal discs!" it's worth the effort!"

From Lynn - I don't have a WHY but in order to be a person of integrity (which I say I am, but I haven't been toward my own self) in order to keep my promises.

From Marsha (Slenderella61) - Feeling good, maintaining function, looking good, and self respect are all important.

1.health - avoiding lifestyle medications and lifestyle diseases, feeling good.
2. function - you want to continue working rings around others. working on balance, flexibility, strength will pay off, even if you don't need remedial work
3. appearance - oh, yeah. the vanity motivators. You know, fitting into your favorite clothes, feeling good as you walk in a room, smiling in the mirror
4. confidence - knowing you look good and feel good and reflecting that - willingness to try new things.
5. self-respect - I feel good about myself when I set goals and meet them

From BessHaile - I am pretty sure I wouldn't let other people's opinions of me stop me from doing what I want - but I like it that my appearance doesn't color how people relate to me. I love being 65. I don't want to be younger - but I don't want anything to limit me doing what I want to do. I absolutely love feeling like I am still in the game - but on my terms.

1. I love cute clothes and like to have as many options as possible. I don't want size or fat rolls to limit me further (everyone sneers at clothes as a motivator but I happen to love them)

2. I want to be a hot hot hot 65 (and up) which is something entirely different from the hot hot hot young thing. This is not a sexual thing - it's a competency thing. Being ... and feeling hot makes people, especially young ones, think your mind is still sharp. So I have more validity among young young young things.

3. Ditto looking and feeling like I am still in charge and can still be trusted to make good choices. AND follow through on them.

From TOPFORM1 - FREEDOM :It's all about feeling mentally free, emotionally alive, and physically healthy.
