The only predictable thing in life is change. DH retired before we could afford it because we wanted something left of him to retire. He is coming home. After four and a half years of seeing him every other weekend if we were lucky, we get to live in the same house again. Problem. The renters bailed less than six months after he left the other house, leaving it in need of major repairs. That’s $1600-2000 rental income gone per month gone. Of course his was also the job our insurance coverage came through... Oh, and dealing with the fact that my part time high stress job is, at least until the rent starts coming in again, our main source of income. While raising our other really neat kid. Life really is just a series of back to back roller coasters and carnival rides. Sometimes you’re on the rattling wooden coaster, sometimes your spinning madly in the tilt-o-whirl. Every once in a while you get to take a break on the carousel.
