    P.S. Finishing week 3 of these crazy mornings and I really do like it. I hate the actual process of getting up, but I'm so glad to have my workouts done. I won't say they give me energy, but they give me a tremendous sense of accomplishment to start my day.

    You should be in NZ now. Color me jealous! I would love to go on my own or with a friend sometime (and not a group of teens--as I did last time). I shouldn't complain. I'd never be able to afford to go on my own. It really is fun to take the kids (we went to Ireland, Wales, and England this past summer and in 2017 we're going to France and Spain) and watch them explore new cultures. But there are times I just want to go at my own pace.

    I can't wait to hear about your trip. I hope you guys have an absolute blast! It's so beautiful there. Will you be going anywhere near the filming locations of Lord of the Rings? Or is that not your thing? :)

    I know the scale is motivation for me (and probably you to a degree), but sometimes, it's the NSVs (like pants fitting much looser) that make me realize it's really working. That is quite the achievement to have lost over the holiday and during the stress up to the departure.

    Your response was kind! I realized later that I might have sounded condescending and I certainly didn't mean to be. No one wants to hear condescension when they're hurting. I just wanted to give you at least a glimmer of hope. emoticon

    Congrats on losing weight over Thanksgiving! That's quite the achievement. I was thrilled that I only gained 1 pound. LOL

    I stopped tracking for about a week or so, yes, partly stress and partly I was making bad decisions and didn't really want to record it. lol I was probably making bad choices because I was stressed. So maybe the short answer is, yes, stress. ugh

    I've never used MyFitness Pal. Actually, I think I may have signed up years ago, but didn't want to have to use 2 apps and I prefer SP. What's better about MFP? I'm willing to consider it.

    One huge achievement this week is that I've been getting up every morning (about 4:15) to workout before I shower and go to work. I love that I only have to shower once a day and my workout is done. I don't have to worry about it at night when I'm tired and make excuses. But seriously...4:15...that's just crazy. emoticon Because I'm doing it in the morning, I also have time now to take my dog (most nights) for a nice walk--which is more exercise for me. Win-win.

    I'm so sorry you've had a rough few weeks (definitely political turmoil). Add that to everything else, and you've been through the ringer. I don't know a lot about PCOS, but I know several people with it. My mom had PCOS. And if she could get pregnant back in the day with me (and with only 1/4 of one of her ovaries left), there must surely be more improved methods now. I think there are so many variables. I will send out positive thoughts and hope that your doctor is able to come up with a viable plan.

    I will also say CONGRATS for sticking to the eating plan. I too have done really well, until two weekends ago. Despite the stress, I stuck to the plan. The last two weeks have been hit or miss. I also tracked poorly on SP. Doh! Poor tracking and then bad decisions. Proving to me, once again, the importance of tracking!!!! Argh.

    I hope that you and your husband will be able to rest and recuperate over the holiday break.
