Before I remarried I was 140 lbs and worked out three times a week in order to meet the physical standards set by the Navy. I got out to follow him, quit working out and started gaining weight. I was going to go back to working out and he said I didn't need to on his account that they kind of liked their women with a little meat on them where he came from (Ohio). That was followed by Good Humor variety packs whenever I mentioned the "D" word. He could very well kill me with love -- two large boxes of chocolates for Valentine's before his ship deployed, having a candy bar and soda waiting for me when he'd pick me up after work. Then eating the lunch at work (a lot of carbs) the last 10 years added more weight. At 233 pounds I had enough. I told my husband I was tired of being overweight and needed to lose weight for my health now that I was middle age. I doubt I ever see 145 pounds again, but I'd like to try for 150 at least. I didn't put it on overnight, so it's not going to come off that way, as long as it is going down I guess I won't complain.

My Goals:
I would like to get back to at least 150 pounds and a size 16. I would prefer 145-140 and a size 14, but I'm trying to be realistic.

My Program:
I quit eating the lunches at work (too many simple carbs) and started packing healthier lunches.

I joined a weight loss challenge at the community center and plan to get a pool pass at the local collge to start swimming laps again. Thinking about trying Dr. Simeon's plan that uses HCG to reset my thyroid and motabolism and also kill off the excess candida in my system.

Personal Information:
Born and raised in St.Joseph, MO, I joined the Navy after graduating from college. Duty stations included Guam and Washington state. Remarried in 1990 and got out just before my husband returned from Desert Storm and followed him in his career, due to the Navy wouldn't give me anything in writing or arrange for me to be able to talk to him and mail sometimes took a month or more to reach him.

Other Information:
I am collecting low carb and low glycemic index type recipes focusing on higher amounts of fiber and protein.

Would like to find recipes for mixes to make things in a hurry due to not having much time to cook from scratch on a nightly basis. I work during the day, then have chores on the farm making it difficult to get a meal prepared in the early evening like I'm suppose to. Let alone get to bed in time to try and get 8 hours of sleep.
