I am a stay at home wife and mom to 7 children. For the majority of my life I haven't been overweight. I was chubby...had baby fat...what have you. I remember when I was in 5th grade I was wearing a skirt and my shirt was tucked in. I had a little pooch and a girl pointed to it and asked "What's that?" in a very snotty, little 5th grade girl tone. I was mortified! From then on, all of my shirts were untucked. Between my 5th and 6th grade year, or somehere near there, I went from 100 lbs to 83. I was skinny. I had a terrible body image. I filled the tub water to a certain level every night when I would take a bath, if my belly went over the water, I would exercise more the next day. I was 10 and 11 yrs old and I ate off of saucer/dessert plates for dinner. When I was 12 or 13 a young woman that helped at our church asked me if I was anoerexic. It shocked me that she would ask that but when I was 16, a counselor asked me the same thing. Now that I look back, I either was or almost there. When I got married at the age of 20 I was 135 lbs. Over the next few months, I gained some weight. That was the first thing my father in law noticed and commented on when we went to visit! When I was 5mths pregnant with our first, my brother in law called me big mama and my father in law laughed...they didn't think I heard. I was really unhealthy when I was pregnant with our first but it didn't help me emtionally having them criticize me. I don't want to be there again...I never wanted to be there in the first place. I want to be healthy, fit and strong. I could care less what anyone thinks about my weight anymore because I have found out that the people that have criticized me should have looked in the mirror first. My self-image isn't about how I look. It is about being able to play with your kids, go up a flight of stairs, or carry a 19 lb baby around a museum for 4hrs without feeling like your lungs will explode or your heart stop. How I look is a bonus to how I feel on the inside. This body is on loan from the Lord and He is expecting me...all of take care of it. Be FIT...Be HEALTHY...Be STRONG

My Goals:
I am going to lose 54 lbs...maybe a little more. I am not sure if I want to get to my weight when I got married or not. I have been told I looked like I had an eating disorder! Anyway, I was at a healthy weight but not healthy...kwim? I want to be healthy, fit and strong. I am trying not to be too psycho about it. I am exercising everyday except for Sunday (unless I miss a day) and I am eating healthy while watching my portion sizes (those got me into trouble).

UPDATE: I have reached my goal and now I just want to tone and lose body fat. That is why I changed goal. If I get to 135 HEALTHILY then great as long as I am achieving the goals I have set for myself! :-)

My Program:
On M-W-F I am at the Y (running and lifting). On T-TH I am going to do The FIRM at home (that is what got me more than half way to my goal and it is AWESOME!) If I am not drenching with sweat...I didn't work out hard enough. I love to work out and I trying not to make it an addiction.

I bit the bullet and signed up for my first 5k...excited and nervous at the same time. :-)

I am 30yrs old. I am a Christian, I have been married to my earthly best friend for 10yrs. We have 4 beautiful girls whom I teach at home. I throughly enjoy learning about health, nutrtion, birth and breastfeeding. We are from SC but have been living in NE GA for 4.5yrs. We love it here! :-)
