I started here in June of 2007; by May 2008 I had lost 52 pounds! Then life sidetracked me and I find myself over a year later having gained back 40 pounds. I've spent too much time trying to get over the fact that I back-slid.

And too much time taking care of everything else but me! It is way to easy to get caught up in what "has to be done" and not do what is really important.

Now it's time to Get Serious!! It's time to Get Back on Track!! It's time to remember that taking care of me is the most important thing!!

Hi Sandy! So nice to hear from an old friend!!!

For me, WW was the catalyst for me to get back to healthy living. I've always said that it's 99.9% mental. Anything works if it's the thing that gets your head in the right place. By giving it my all and following the plan completely, I was able to start losing again...very quickly at first. I had joined on March 1. After losing 5 lbs. the first week, it was 2-3 lbs. a week and after 3 months I'd lost 30 lbs!!! Then things began to slow down considerably, but I was still losing each week up until a month and a half ago. Now I'm doing what I can to get back to my original state of mind to get the rest off. I've lost 40 and am only 20 lbs. from my goal of 155. I've promised myself that even if I stay the same for a while, I'll be happy. The last thing I want is to start slipping like my former pattern. This time I plan to beat it by staying positive and getting back the same strong drive I had in the beginning. I know all to well how easy it is to backslide and it's a lot easier to catch it early than to try to recoup after 10 or more lbs. start to creep back.

I wish you all the best, Sandy. Keep optimistic and do whatever you need to in order to light the fire of motivation. Sometimes just changing it up works. That's why WW worked for me this last time - I went with a different attitude and was so fully committed that I felt nothing was going to get in my way...and it didn't. The more the pounds came off each week, the more determined I got. As you move into smaller sizes, the excitement of that takes over the need for certain food "treats". Success breeds more success and before you know it, you've got such momentum going that you are unstoppable!

Choose to feel good. emoticon I'm rooting for you!!! Mary

You have been busy, and you are right - it is time to take care of you. You've got all the tools just need to remember how to use them!
For fitness, the QuickFire Challenge is great. They have options along with links that they give you each and every day - man talk about dedication via sparkmail if you choose. Of course it only works if you do (she says to herself).
The other one is more for support and fun, it’s the 50+Female…They are a great group. Gosh how time flies, you now are eligible for the 4Fers …

We had a lot of fun in the past, we can still get into some meyhem and get our (bad) selves back,

"God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers". ~Jewish Proverb

May you enjoy your special day with your loved ones, the two and four legged kind. Remember this is your day to take a rest and enjoy others taking care of you. Take advantage of that time by having a moment or two of quiet time for yourself.

emoticon emoticon emoticon FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

This is the day that we celebrate when the Mexican army defeated the French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. We also celebrate Mexican heritage and pride. So, celebrate Cinco de Mayo in your own special way. Adios!

Happy Earth Day! Did you know that in America we throw away nearly 38 BILLION plastic bags a year just in the United States? Take note and do something green for the environment starting today. Even if you do other things, try and take on one more thing to do that will make this world a better place for generations to come. Change to energy saving light bulbs, recycle your paper products, compost, donate old clothing, use a re-usable water bottle or just say no to plastic bags and bottles. Pick something, just one thing to change that you do and keep on doing it. Doing just one thing can make the difference.

We're learning to take care of our bodies, let's now start with our environment. Celebrate the Earth today!
