Hi, my name is Rusty.

I started this SparkPeople journey back in January 2010, with great intentions, but.... What can I say? I can make every excuse I can think of but the truth is, I didn't follow the program! Here it is, June 2012; I'm back now, even heavier, but with every intention of staying the course this time.

There is so much I want to accomplish but it all sounds so overwhelming when I look at it all at once. I still want to change the way I look and feel! I want to become more active! I want to stop being in pain! I want my joints to work the way they were intended! I want to wear form fitting clothes and look beautiful in them! I want to be able to run without becoming out of breath! I want to keep up with my two beautiful daughters without complaining that my knees hurt! I want to go out and enjoy nature walks and all that God has created for us! But, most of all, I want to be happy with my appearance and with myself! I can accomplish all of this one day at a time!

I'm only in my forties’ yet I feel like I'm ancient. This is the new beginning to a life long journey for me. It is time I took back my life and stopped letting my weight determine what I can and cannot do!

I'm ready for this ride! Are you?

My Goals:
Overall, I want/need to lose about 100 lbs.

I plan to lose 1 - 2 pounds per week for as long as it takes.

I plan to add one new moving activity, daily.

I plan to do all of this with the help of SparkPeople.

    I feel the same way about myself. I'm forty and I feel that I'm just not up to playing a half hour of tennis with my husband and kids. I know it hurts his feeling when I don't want to go to the court with them. I make up a hundred excuses why I don't to go. He figures it's easier to leave me behind at home than fight. I want things to change this year. I hope you find what your looking for to find your new goal for the new year. :)
