My name is Dana. I am a 48 year old teacher of kindergarten . I am single and do not have any children of my own but I love kids. My goal is to begin a new lifestyle of eating heatlhy and exercising daily. I have done this once before and I was stuck at 45 lbs lost and I gave up. I am going to do this again and I will see it through to the end result. I am looking forward to the process and seeing the results. I am looking forward to a healthier me. I want to reduce my chances of becoming a diabetic and I would like to lower my cholesterol and blood pressure.

My Cholesterol on April 17 2018 was 116Total HDL 43 LDL 55 Triglycerides 95.
My Cholesterol on December 2012 was 126 LDL and 63 HDL. My A1C is 6.4. Here we go again! I am going to make this better.
My Cholesterol in February 2009 was 99 Total with LDL of 33 and HDL of 48. My triglycerites are 88.

In October of 2008 my Cholesterol total was 185 and my HDL was 56 and my LDL was 95. My triglycerites were 137.

My Doctor is so happy with the progress that he cut my medication in half.
April 23,2009 : I am now only taking one fourth of the High Blood pressure medication I was taking in January due to Low Blood Pressure. Because of my change in medication my body retained 12 lbs of water in one week after I reached 220 lbs. This put me back up to 232 and it has taken several weeks to get rid of this extra weight but I am finally seeing the ticker move again. I was 219 as of 5-17-09. Nine more pounds until I am halfway to goal weight.
It is now 5-16-10 and I have weighed in this Sunday morning at 219. I have just noticed a cycle. I am the exact weight now as I was at this time last year. I have been working hard since the last week in March to get off some of the weight that I put back on this winter. My lowest weight during my first year on sparks was 215. I am really trying hard to get back to that point so that I may move forward and lose the rest of the weight that I want to lose. I am taking a weekly aerobics class with FitPris from the Independence Sparkers and I have just recently began walking in the early morning hours before I go to work. I have managed to take off 16 pounds in the last month and a half and I have 4 more pounds to go to get to the low point. I am still nine pounds from my halfway point and I can't wait to see my ticker under 200. I am inspired to do better. I now know that it is very important to add some strength training into your workout and get your morning workout in to start your metabolism. It is also very important to try and log everything that goes into your mouth. I am aware of this cycle that my body seems to be in and I will look back next year at this time to see if I have managed to break the cycle. Maybe by next year this time I will see my goal of 160. I will work hard toward this and try even harder not to allow myself to slip back into my old ways of life.

•Fly, ride a roller coaster or go to a movie without feeling squashed or using a seatbelt extender
•Be a more confident public speaker
•Relax around other people and be myself
•Have people ask if I have lost weight
•Prove to myself that I can do it.

My goal is to lose weight and become a healthier person.

My Program:
I am following an eating plan of No chips, No potatoes, No fast food, No Fried food, No white bread, No soda, No chocolate, No ice cream, No cake, No cookies, No candy, and no doughnuts. I will continue this plan with an occassional planned splurge.

I was born and raised in Independence, Missouri.
