Wow 2012 was a short ride but so worth it. I graduated with my Medical Assistant diploma, made it through practicals and was hired at the same clinic and then went on to become certified. Yes I now have a title!!! CMA (AAMA). For the last few years I felt Like I was in a holding pattern. Starting school, going through a divorce, living life as a single mom, then meeting the most wonderful man in the world and planning a wedding. Getting married, moving. It all felt as if I was never going to start living. I was just circling the airport. The whole time the song by John Waller "While I'm Waiting" played in my head and heart. Even after moving here and going to school to finish I was "holding". Magically one day, it all came together. (Shortly after I was hired) my brain kicked in and said "We've landed" now lets get down to business. So here it was after all that time I just wasn't sure how to live. With the help of my wonderful husband Kevin and my beautiful daughter Jasmine I am now finding my way back to the land of the living. I have always known who I am and what I wanted I just couldn't seem to get there. My husband has helped me see me. How beautiful I can be. It is only because of his love, faithfulness and trust that I am opening my life to a whole new world. In opening that world I know I must now set goals for the future. Part of that goal is weight loss so that I can enjoy life and be healthy with the most wonderful family in the world. This year I have also seen our son Josh (19) start opening up to me and realizing I am here to stay and that I love him as if he were my own son.

THanks for the goodie, and the encouragement. I was kind of disappointed in my few steps--I mean, I averaged about 2500 steps a day, and I was hoping to at least be closer to 5000! But I also know that I had a lot of set backs because I was sick so long, and some of my exercise doesn't really translate well into steps, and anyway it's a start... this next week I hopefully will do better! I'm at least off to a good start since I got over 8000 steps last week---about half of what I had gotten for the previous week combined! My hip was sore enough at the end of the day to tell me that my body can't handle that much walking daily (yet!) but it felt good to be outside walking around. I even got a wee bit of sun because I forgot about grabbing sunscreen and a hat... Which was bad of me but it's still early enough in the year that I didn't get burned.
