Is this thing on? *knock* hmm okay, how do I start this off? I'm an average fulltime working parent of a teenager. yikes! I get home feeling tired and ready to jump back into bed. I have this disgusting feeling inside that I'm wasting time, wasting away, and wasting what could be a potentially happy life. (that was my thinking a few months ago) I have since started to makes changes, positive ones. I started on Sparkpeople a long while ago...but never really utilized it....until now!

My Goals:
Baby steps works for me because I tend to gain a craving or desire to do more than just the short term goal. For instance:
-Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
-exercise 15 mins. a day (trying to catch up after birthday cake...boo)
- exercise from 15 mins to 30 mins after two weeks of being consistent.
-cook 1 meal once a week (i still get mom's homecooking...so I dont cook very often)

Long Term
-go swimming during the summer wearing a two piece/bikini!
(after toning)
- cook for myself daily (I live with my parents so homecook meals are always available, shhh I'm not spoiled!)

My Program:
I have been taking cooking classes here and there through my community college or just online. I also like to watch the cooking channels. I am a vegetarian so I try to take specific classes. I am a member of Sporkfoods.com
I have a love for cooking, I just don't like cleaning up after.

I don't need to lose a dramatic amount of weight, I am a little bit happy with my body. I just want to tone my body. I would also like to strength train and I just bought myself the Trish Stratus Yoga dvd. I already play Wii Gold's Gym Dance workout and I play the Michael Jackson dance game (which is a workout in itself, that man could move!) I also try to keep busy walking the dog. My boyfriend is also into working out so we go on walks and he has gotten me into squats and situps. I hated them before but now he taught me how to make it easier for me to enjoy it. If its with him, its fun.

    Hello, I noticed your post about eating junk when you don't want it and common sense approach to fighting it. I haven't figured it all out yet, but what i realize is that as long as i take this journey one day at a time and make the healthiest choices i can, i can't get too mad at myself. i will give in to cravings, but only enough to satisfy that craving. I know what my goals are, i know that as long as i make the healthiest choice 80% of the time, i am doing good. feel free to sparkmail me. i added you as a friend.
