My name is Brenda, I'm what I like to refer to as a "Career Dieter". I always seem to be on some sort of diet. I've tried Slimfast, Atkins, South Beach Diet, Weight Watchers, E-diet, Carb. Addicts diet, and many more. I've counted calories, points, fat grams, carbs etc....
Most of the diets I've been on work but I never seem to stick with them until the end. The most I've lost is 15 pounds before I give up. I would like to make this my final weight loss attempt and then work on maintaining a goal weight.
I'm determined to when this battle once & for all. I am hoping to find some support from others and will do my best to help others succeed as well.

Fitness Minutes: 240

My Goals:
I would like to loss 40 pounds.

Help my husband (Chuck) and other family members who live with us lose weight by preparing heathier foods.

My Program:
I plan to do this by setting a weight loss goal of one half pounds a week. (If I lose more, that's even better!)
I will do this by counting calories and using all the tools that Sparkpeople offers. When I tire of/or get bored with counting calories I will switch to Weight Watchers (Core/Filling Foods)
I will attempt to always keep a written food journal. I believe it is what will keep me on track and accountable.

I will attempt to get more exercise.

Personal Information:
I have another blog; feel free to visit. It will appeal to you if you are a homemaker, or Farmer/Homesteader.
It can be found here:

I am 46 years old.

Married with two grown children & three grandchildren.

We live on a farm, it is a work in progress. Ii had been abandoned for 20 plus years and it is like starting from scratch.

I have been a CNA (certified nursing assistant) for 20 plus years and am presently working full time. A CNA is a good career for homesteader's/farmer's because there is aways work available and I can work during the winter months when there is not a whole lot happening on the farm. Spring & Summer can be a very busy time on a farm/homestead and I'd rather be home during that time than working off the farm. I am also taking an on-line medical transcriptionist course so that I can get a job that will allow me to work from home.

Other Information:
Hobbies I enjoy include:
Counted cross stitch, scrapbooking/homemade greeting cards (check out my photo for projects I've completed)
I also like to garden & read.

Hi Brenda! Just noticed your comment from the 3rd. We've had a total of about 5 inches by now. I work in Reno, OH, about 20 mins up I77. The roads have been pretty bad at times, but they were in pretty good shape tonight.... I'm ready for spring. emoticon ....I've been working so much overtime I haven't tracked my food in a few days. -- But I'm not giving up! Stay warm,

An ex Michigander eh? Well I hope to be an ex someday. lol I love it here but I am looking forward to moving to a warmer state after I retire. I love the snow for about a month and then I am just too cold! lol
My son moved to Virginia. He is working in Dc so has already left the state. He has more snow where he is right now than I do so I wont be moving near him. My 2nd son lived in California when he was a marine and it was very nice there. I am waiting to see where the other boys relocate to before I decide. Want to be near some grand kids(when they have them) Right now the only grand child lives here by me so I am staying put.
    have a happy new year.
