Hi, My name is Issis. I am a mother of two awesome and amazing boys Soláno and Chaitanya. They are the reason I breathe and I could never imagine my life without them. In May of 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma aka Breast Cancer. The cancer had spread through my body. I had 3 tumors in left breast and tumors in many quantities were shrewn about my body....found in my throat, thyroid, left shoulder, whole clavicle, sternum, spine, rib cage, right iliac (hip) bone and right leg in the chin area. After 8 sessions of chemo that lasted 6 months almost ALL of the cancer has left the building. The only cancerous residue is in lower lumbar and my iliac bone. I was told by one Dr. during my third biopsy that life expectancy was about 18-36 months for stage 4 but as I was already suffering from various damage done, one of my Dr's admitted to me that she honestly didn't think I would make it to December 2013. But she wouldn't tell me that because she said she didn't want to dampen my spirits. I had 3 spinal fractures and could not walk properly or without pain when I was diagnosed. BUT HERE I AM....and I realize that I cannot continue the same patterned behavior that has lead me to cancer. March 1st 2014 I decided enough was enough. My online friend Regan started I believe that day as well and for the first few weeks, she was my main motivation and still is. But here I am entering into May.....60 days and I have lost 17 lbs. I lost 4.5 inches from my waist, 4 inches from my hips, 3 inches from each thigh, 0.5 of an inch from my neck and upper arms (each) Total of 12.5 inches from those areas. I made significant dietary changes and hope with Sparkpeople I can make even more changes and have better results.

Welcome to the Surviving Cancer team! It's a great team with a lot of support.

I also have stage IV breast cancer; mine was diagnosed in April 2007. It is in my bones, but it can be managed, and I'm still here after 7 years, so please don't give up hope! My first diagnosis, of stage II, was in May 2003.

I saw your post on the surviving cancer team. I'm so glad you are here. There is an 11 year stage IV breast cancer survivor on the team as well (MOM2ACAT), so you are in good company on that team. I just finished nine months of treatment for stage 2b triple negative breast cancer. We are here to cheer you on. Hugs, Kay
