Its been several years since I logged in. The first time I joined I was 185 pounds, now I am 213.6 pounds. Close to 30 pounds. In two days I retire from a very stressful job and I am going to throw myself into fitness as my "retirement project."

I am lucky to live in an incredibly beautiful place with amazing walks up and down the hills.

I'm going to get better.

My Goals:
1 Be patient with slow weight loss. Be strong enough to wait through days of being "perfect" before seeing a small reduction.

1.5 Remember that the only thing I truly control is what I eat and how much I exercise. I don't have control over weight loss.

2. Accept hunger in my life. Make hunger my friend. Hunger is not a tragedy.

3. Significantly increase my activity level. This is a very hard goal for me.

4. Take a physical time out to relax my body and mind when I feel the compulsive need to eat.

My Program:
1. Plan my basic food intake in the am. Keep a list of great meals and snacks available for me to choose from.

2. Put food out of my consciousness as much as possible. Mentally turn away from thoughts and desires in this direction.

3. Have a stack of books to use as a distraction for compulsive eating in the evenings

4. Learn more about exercising, learn about strength training, work towards a higher heart rate during cardio.

5. Maybe lurk through the message boards till I find people I relate to and then make friends.

8. Eat in a variable range of calories--around 900 to 1500. When I haven't lost for awhile cut back, when I start to feel too worn down eat a little more.

9. Be consistent in the day to day. If there is a special occasion eat the special food, just don't have too many of those days.

I'm coming up on my 25th wedding anniversary! Wow, and I still adore my husband, how incredible is that?
