Update: So yeah that intro blip was 8 years or so ago Since the last I was on here, I gained everything I lost back and then some. Went from active to pretty darn sedentary for a bunch of lame reasons. Time to get back to it and stick with it this time! Lean n mean in 2016 rah,rah, rah and all that. Hello, Greetings and Salutations. I'm Dawn from DE. Married 20 years to my true love and passion of my life, a great guy who loves me through thick and thin. We have 3 great guys (can't call 'em boys anymore) together. Some of my favorite things include spending time with my family, listening to jazz (or any music genre), watching improv or stand up, enjoying good food, the water (ocean/beach, bay, rivers), fishing as long as I don't touch yukky things, hiking, thunderstorms, enjoying nature & God's abundance. I have about a 100lbs to loose YIKES! Not an insurmountable goal but a challenge none the less. I was 112 when I married- don't know that I'll ever see that again but I'd like to get close :-) Part of my diet challenge is that I have hypothyroidism - which means the way I metabolise things is slowed way down. Another challenge is that I really just plain enjoy *all* the sensory pleasures that food brings. The smell, the textures, the colors, the preprations and presentations (and sometimes the memories) and of course tastes. Food should not only taste good but also needs to look good, smell good and be something to share with those you love. (otherwise it night as well be fastfood eaten in your car - ew!). I love to cook and love to try new things. My husband is a fabuloso cook- MUCH better than me. We tend to bake or grill most things. As a general rule we don't use prepackaged or canned items. Fresh and Frugal.

My Program:
In a nutshell it's the old addage- eat less calories and exercise more . - Imagine that. Healthy Choices are the key. I bike everyday for cardio and weight train everyother day to increase tone.

As far as an eating plan... I drink a glass of water with each meal and one between (with or with out a snack) and stay between 12-1400 calories or under daily. I don't usually use prepackaged (canned / boxed or fast food) items because of the increased fat / sugar /sodium that they contain. I usually eat out once a week with my husband during date night.

It seems like I've tried every diet d'jour but I'm determined this will be the last.

    Yeah! My sis is back on here w/ me! :) Hey that new Shake Shack uptown is having a wieght loss challenge - wanna join me - only costs $29 to join - wiegh in once a week - pay a $1 for every pound you gain - BUT if you are the Biggest Losser you get 50% of the kitty. The other 50% goes to the person who has lost the greatest # of inches. Hey whatya say want in? Next meeting is next Tuesday....let me know. BTW trying to close down my other page - I don't know why, but I couldn't get SP to send me my old password and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it - ---ssoooooo had to open the new page.

    I'm watching skinny healthy people on FITtv and they're doing restful yoga. You look like you're doing yoga in your profile pic - so I thought of you!
