For some of middle school and all of high school I've been overweight or just a couple pounds from it. I've never really been comfortable with myself. I can't remember a time I've been in the 130's. I've tried losing weight but have never made more progress than a couple of pounds. My highest point was 152 and all through my first semester of college I was 150. That's when I decided enough was enough. I'm tired of it and I need a lifestyle change. I rowed for all of high school but that didn't change my body much. I had a flatter stomach during the seasons but that's about it. I'm pretty good with my eating habits, it's just getting to exercise that's the problem but recently I have found more and more ways to be active and I'm having a good time doing it!

My Program:
Seeing a nutritionist once a month. The main goal is to get more protein in my diet and eat a huge breakfast to boost my metabolism throughout the day. Most of my program is mental as I struggle with BDD and have to learn to lose for the right reason, and also fight anxiety that comes along with exercising. If I can get past those barriers things will be much easier for me.

emoticon Okay SPARK friends make April 1st a new starting point for a goal you really want to achieve. If you have been working on a goal since January 1st, you have been at it for three full months so be proud of yourself! emoticon

emoticon For those of you who just have to play pranks from saying, "your shoe is untied" or replacing the sports section with last weeks, just remember....
You Know What They Say About Fools...
The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year. -- Mark Twain
It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and leave no doubt. --Mark Twain
However big the fool, there is always a bigger fool to admire him. -- Nicolas Boileau-Despréaux
He who lives without folly isn't so wise as he thinks. -- François, Duc de La Rochefoucauld
Sometimes one likes foolish people for their folly, better than wise people for their wisdom. -- Elizabeth Gaskell
Looking foolish does the spirit good. -- John Updike
Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed. -- Mark Twain
A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees. -- William Blake
It is better to be a fool than to be dead. -- Stevenson

Feed your mind with thoughts that cause it to be peaceful. To have a mind full of peace merely fill it full of peace. It’s as simple as that.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Happy Spring TIme!

I love spring! emoticon The joy of planning my gardens .I love the first sign of the crocus, emoticon daffodil, and tulips pooping up, emoticon brushing away the dead and heavy cover to see the strawberries, chives, parsley and lavender emerge, emoticon the shoots of green buds on trees, emoticon and the robins returning, emoticon the morning sounds of the birds chirping. emoticon

Spring is a time of renewal. The weather gets warmer and the days grow longer allowing us time to get out doors and PLAY! Finding fun and exciting ways to enjoy the out of doors will invigorate and motivate you plus it changes your routine causing those pounds to drop. Try biking, rollerblading, trail hiking or geocaching. Play kick the can, skipping, or jump roping with the kids. Push strollers, walk dogs, climb fences. Join a league. Grow a garden. The possibilities are limitless.

Spring is a time of freshness. Start trying some new veggies and fruits. Drink lots of water. Give yourself a homemade facial or scrub your feet with an abrasive. Give your house a good cleaning. Get rid of the old.

Okay, hopefully I motivated you to make some fun changes and break up your routine a tad. Let me know what works for you! emoticon

emoticon Hello! Hello! Hello and HAPPY MONDAY! Time for my friendly weekly update. emoticon

Many of my friends had birthdays this last week. I hope each day as you get older, you get wiser too! emoticon

My marathon training is going. I get all my workouts in and even though I am slow, I amaze myself that I can walk/run over 40 miles in a week. emoticon

If you noticed, I changed my avatar. I really, really love DIsney World so I changed to a picture of Winnie and Tigger took last year. Funny thing is that I am not use to it yet and I keep wondering who it is when I see it.

Also in the news, I went to a party Saturday night. I am not the partying type but we are from New Orleans and friends had a Mardi Gras party. Wouldn't you know I was bad and from the cajun food, beer, and hurricanes I gained like 5 pounds. I know it will be gone in a few days, but geesh, can't I have some control. Good thing I only go to one party every three years. Oh, I also had a doozy of a headache on Sunday.

Well Wednesday starts Lent season and that is always good for a drop in five pounds(if you give up sweets)

emoticon Have a wonderful week and make sure to do something for yourself everyday. You are the most important person in your life. By doing something special for yourself, you love yourself and get some joy. Joy is the BEST feeling in the world. Love ya! emoticon emoticon

Don't feel bad that you are busy. When you et back to spark let me know. I hope you are having a glorious time and not drinking too much pepsi!

emoticon emoticon It's Sunday! emoticon emoticon
I am trying to relax in between the loads of laundry and the house straightening. I sure did enjoy the three day weekend last week! emoticon

Hope life has been going good for you SPARK friend. Managing variables can make the difference of a great week to a bummer week. Yesterday when I was out, and all this week for that matter, I was a little down. In reviewing my life in the past few weeks, I had no stress to give me this depressed feeling. I wasn't sick, I love my job, Family is great, blah, blah, blah.

emoticon Then it hit me, the butterfly quote and the chaos theory:When a butterfly flaps its wings in one part of the world it can cause a hurricane in another part of the world. Author Unknown
I think I am a little down because of all the unrest in the world.

emoticon emoticon So I am sending out positive vibes to everyone so our little lights shine and make the world a happier place. May this coming week be full of joy for you and your loved ones. Stay healthy, happy and focused. If you have a problem, try to solve it fast. Keep you butterflies gentle and happy.

emoticon May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
    Today, tomorrow and beyond.
