    Hi! Thanks for the blog comment. Yoga is way more than stretching. Of course, it depends on who is teaching it, there’s actually a bunch of different styles of yoga. The ones I’ve been to have a relaxing/meditation aspect, but in the middle there is some intense muscle/strength building work. It’s moving your body into these different positions and holding them, and breathing, and it’s really different than doing jumping jacks or cardio. It definitely can raise your heart rate to a calorie burn level, depending on how challenging it is. At the same time, you are also stretching more and deeper into poses, so it does also help with flexibility. If you try it, let me know how it goes!
