Getting serious and feeling better -- a last-ditch effort to get back to "me" before hitting 30.

I've been overweight for as long as I can remember...my clothes were labeled "husky" back when the term "husky" was used, and i distinctly remember being the biggest/tallest girl in my Kindergarten class. Biggest/tallest kid period next to good ol' Micheal Morales, who could have subbed for the jr. high football team (sweet kid, though.)

But I digress! In middle school I cried over being bigger than most of the boys; my mother would rub my back and assure me that my detractors simply didn't understand what a "goddess" i was.

Lost some "baby weight" in high school and slimmed up, took up cycling around my rural neighborhood. When I started college I was a softly-curved 170-175. I liked it. It was my best weight in recent memory.

Cut to my internship....stress....graduation....meet
ing my husband...marriage....first baby....second baby....at the peak of my pregnancy with my now-18-month-old, I tipped the scale at 267 -- an obscene number of pounds, in my estimation. I served as 'matron of honor' at my BFF's wedding in October of 2011, not even eight weeks after Jackson was born. The reception was held at an old mill...the original freight scale from what i guessed was the early 1900s was still there. I hopped on it before the wedding as we were decorating the space -- it read 250. I figured that was as good a starting point as any for my "at-last" life-changing weight loss adventure.

Dropped 30 lbs in 2012 -- along the way i found Spark, learned about calorie density and began to track my calories in my head throughout the day. I found a Zumba class to jump into during my lunch break at work in the fall, and impressed my coworkers by making my lunch most days of the week.

In late fall through the holidays I gained eight of it back, a set back I attribute partially to a super-charged baking hobby I picked up....bought a pretty patterned Butcher-cut apron and everything.

This year I mostly leave the baked goods for the Hubs (he, unlike me, has an otherworldly metabolism), and am fostering an addiction to O2 and H2O :-)

I'm excited to see what develops this year.
