Thanks for visiting my page! I am on a long journey of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible! I have been working out since I was 20 years old. I have a grown son and daughter, a hubby, and two wonderfully sweet dogs, Skeet, 13, and Bentley, 5. I have found that there is no easy "maintaining." It is always a healthy weight plan. Basically, think of maintaining the same way you thought of "getting to my goal" plan. They both do the same and stay the same. It can be a troubling mix to try to switch your thinking from "weight loss" to "maintenance." Loving life and enjoying this community! "If I started exercising when I first started thinking about it, I'd be done by now."

My Goals:
Maintaining and working at walking my dogs daily, doing abs daily and weights 2-4 days a week. I like to spend time walking and with hubby and dogs adding some hikes to my workouts. My family is very supportive!

My Program:
Walk dogs daily 20-25 minutes
abs 5 minutes daily
weights 2-4 x/week
if time, do a YouTube workout, DVD, walk with a friend, etc. - anything to stay active and moving

"Never choose to be annoyed. Choose to be amused."

Personal Information:
Originally from St. Paul, MN. My grandmother emigrated to this country back in the '20's and met my grandfather at English speaking school. Something I feel like I got from my grandma is discipline: "The successful person has the habit of doing the things failures don't like to do. They don't like doing them either necessarily. But their disliking is subordinated to the strength of their purpose."

Other Information:
My favorite book is the Bible, but I love reading Christian historical fiction. My favorite movies are National Lampoon's Family Christmas Vacation, What About Bob, and White Christmas. My favorite quote is "We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons." My newest quote is, "It's not the work that's hard, it's the discipline."

emoticon Thank you! I've always loved pinwheels! They just about sing summer! I like balloons and bubbles too! :)
I totally understand not having time to spark during the school year. Finding time to even tak care of yourself is a challenge. Plus, I know when I was still teaching coming home and getting on the computer was not a high priority. Even if I had the time; it was too much like work. By the time I retired we were using the computers a lot in the classroom for records, attendance, planning and all kinds of administrative duties. They certainly did not lighten our workload. Now in retirement I enjoy the computer time in the mornng and am more likely to take a break in my office than in the kitchen. Glad you are back! Smiles.

"If I started exercising when I first started thinking about it, I'd be done by now."

This may be my new favorite quote! It's so true and exercise is more of a challenge for me right now than food choices. Once begun is half way done!

Enjoyed your page. Your babies are growing up! emoticon

WOW! A losing streak the week before Christmas! Good for you! Thank you for the candy cane; it's a Christmas treat that I do enjoy and keeps me away from the higher calorie and fat temptations. Once it becomes a lifestyle, discipline is less of a factor. Merry Christmas! emoticon
