I still get lost on the site too and I have been here a year in May. LOL.

I was in California as a child but I don't remember much other than Needles, California is one hot place!! LOL. I think it was 117 when we were there.

I was on meds for 5 months, the last two of them gaining 29lbs. It's been a healing process of mind, soul and body. It doesn't matter where I was, this is where I am now.
Know you can do it for yourself :) With all the ups and downs...your worth it!

    Cheers Deb

Thank you for visiting my page today and giving me such a BOOST!!!!

I can relate to your experience: "Have gained 15+pounds over the last four months. I can't believe this has happened, "

From November 2006 to May 1, 2007, I gained 17 pounds - in over 60 years, my body had never done that! And I had been stable (and happy and no weight-related health problems) at the same weight for over 10 years. Since I had 3 times before in my life lost significant weight and kept it off 3-5 years but each time eventually gained it back plus more ..... I was just in a quandary: I wanted to get that 17 pounds off and to lose a cushion below it so that future "surprise gains" wouldn't put me over 250-255 where I had been happy and healthy.

Here I am approximately 9 1/2 months later: fitter and lighter (by 44 lbs.). I was never hungry (1800 calories); many days due to pain meds, I couldn't workout on my feet (unsteady); lots of lies told by the scale -- but my metabolism in my 60's is actually better than in my 40's, so I have not had to struggle this time around.

I truly sympathize with you and anyone else who had the unusual happen with your weight. I felt betrayed by my body - and I felt afraid. "What is happening to me???" was on my mind a lot. Well, my best guess in looking back is that my female hormones entered in (even though far into menopause) and that some meds I was taking temporarily gave me some water retention. In any case, I am able now to be thankful: because I thought I would never be able to lose weight and keep it off: but now I do believe that I can. If I hadn't gained that 17 pounds in such an unexpected whoooooosh ... I would have had a slower journey to getting more fit.

I really admire you that you are awake and aware and taking action before the unexpected gain makes you lose heart. You CAN do this; get all the support you can for the hard times ... everyone has hard times. I'm here and others too as well as support you build offline.

You CAN do this; it doesn't have to be a struggle ... this can be a time for you to learn how well your body can respond.

    Wishing you all the best!
