I am now writing for my own blog! :-D It is an eclectic mix of my thoughts and mostly inspiration! It's not perfect, but I am having fun writing!

Please check out if you have time!!

Let's See: 2 marathons, 2 1/2 marathons, 3-4 10K's, countless 5K's... am I a runner yet? LOL

January 2015 goal: Get back to running 3-4 days a week. I am starting slow... No injuries! Want to average 12 miles a week.
~ 48 miles this month.

11/28/14: Still here, Still working hard. I need to lose about 45-50 pounds in 2015. I am rededicating myself and will do it!
11/28/:11: Still exercising regularly :) I feel good about myself and GOOD about my body. Self-love is the best love! Working hard to fix my eating habits and reach this weight loss goal!
11/29/10: It's been a year? Still pushing, still fighting, still determined. Any goal worth your energy, will take time and dedication. NEVER GIVE UP! Count your blessings... look how far you've come! :-) There's more than one definition of success!
11/28/09: I am going to reach my goal. Watch me work. Motivation.
"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought."
 Peace Pilgrim

" It is better to aim for the moon and hit an eagle, than it is to aim for the eagle and hit a rock."

Rest but never quit. Even the sun has a sinking spell each evening. But it always rises the next morning. At sunrise, every soul is born again."

"Start by doing whats necessary; then do whats possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible. ~ St. Francis of Assis
"if you allow something so unnecessary get you down, there's no one else to blame"

" Make the MOST of the best and the least of the worst"

"It is a mistake to try to look too far ahead. The chain of destiny can only be grasped one link at a time."
 Winston Churchill

I am COMMITTED to losing this weight. When I am tired, I will remember my goals and how great I feel after I work out. I can sacrifice 45 mins to build my health and lose fat. I will give this my all for the next few months and yes I realize that this is a journey not a one-time thing. I love exercise and i know that if I give this my absolute all I WILL see results. For once, I am giving a 100% and I will not fear the disappointment of not succeeding. I will instead focus on the PRIDE, RESPECT, and pure ELATION I will feel when I finally reach my GOAL!

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

ARE you committed? *This is the question I plan to ask myself each time I re-think my need to go to the gym or eat within my caloric range :-)
1200-1600 calories
~*~ Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear from you about your journey! I am ALWAYS looking for spark buddies for my journey! !*!
Oh and I have a community journal :-)

I CREATED A NEW GROUP!!! "GONNA MAKE IT HAPPEN" Please join! This group is for all the people who are tired of talking about losing weight and ready to make it happen! It's brand new and we're looking for members! I'd really like it to be a close-knit community and for us to encourage each other and do monthly challenges! Link Below:

AND I have a community journal- so maybe you can read it if you have some time! :-)

** Writen 11/08: RE-committed 3/10: I am ready to be an After! I deserve to be successful. I deserve to feel confident and proud of how I look. To stop tugging on my shirts and feeling unattractive/floppy. To not take 30 mins staring into a closet FULL of clothes feeling like there is nothing to wear. To FINALLY free my mind of my weight and focus on more important things like MED school or happiness or saving the world... anything but 'how do I look in this'. Don't get me wrong, I am more than functional and I am happy with my life for the most part.. but this is an area I would like to change and I have the POWER to do so... so I'm going to do so! For so long I've tried to tell myself that wanting to be a certain size was shallow and that I should be happy with who I am, where I am RIGHT now... and while I know this is true... I am only fooling myself and wasting my time trying to be happy with something that I CAN fix. And believe me I've tried... and I only end up depressed until I decide to just fix it. So... no more excuses. I DESERVE this. And hopefully it doesn't make me shallow. But if it does... LOOK OUT world... Here I come, Young, fit, sexy, intelligent, and shallow... if need be! lol..

I've been on Spark almost a year now. This has been a wonderful journey. I have learned more about myself throughout the last year. I didn't use my spark page much for most of the first year [tried other fitness/eating plans] but NOW I am loving spark people more and more and as I follow the Spark plan more closely I expect to reach my goal THIS YEAR! :-) Fine in 09!
- or maybe I should have said More Fine in 09! lol.

--- Below All Muhammad Ali---

I figured that if I said it enough, I would convince the world that I really was the greatest.

I know where I'm going and I know the truth, and I don't have to be what you want me to be. I'm free to be what I want.

He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

If they can make penicillin out of mouldy bread, they can sure make something out of you.

It's the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.

It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself.

I HATED every minute of training but i said "Dont QUIT, Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a CHAMPION" - Muhammad ALI

I borrowed these, but I love them!
"You will achieve your grand dream, a day at a time, so set goals for each day / not long and difficult projects, but chores that will take you, step by step, toward your rainbow. Write them down, if you must, but limit your list so that you won't have to drag today's undone matters into tomorrow. Remember that you cannot build your pyramid in twenty-four hours. Be patient. Never allow your day to become so cluttered that you neglect your most important goal / to do the best you can, enjoy this day, and rest satisfied with what you have accomplished." - Og Mandino

I will leave you with this. Every person who has made a change in their life remembers a specific point in time where something just clicked and they knew this was the moment to change. This is that moment for each of us. Now - today - is the day for change. Forget what happened yesterday and focus on the daily changes you can make that will bring you closer to your goal. If you are thinking, "Well, it is too late, I am too old or too overweight" I want each of you to remember this - post it somewhere you can see it daily -

"It is NEVER too late to become what you might have been!" - George Eliot

I am a 23 year old young woman who is finally ready to reach my goal weight at all costs (except, unhealthy ones, of course... lol). I used to maintain my weight between 133-140 pounds throughout college- only 2 yrs ago. I have been a cheerleader since I was 4 years old. I started running my sophomore year in college and have been doing taebo since I was ~ 13.. :-) I was a taebo fanatic! I was never able to get into the 120's and I very rarely got too much higher than 143 or so... I remained active throughout my first semester of medical school, but began making more unhealthy food choices as I got busier and busier. I stopped cooking at home because I hated my apartment and ate fastfood all the time because it was easier. I have fought to maintain my weight during medical school at 150 despite the unhealthy foods through exercise. So in all honesty, I have only gained about 10 pounds over all. but let me tell you... I feel so out of shape and none of my clothes fit. It has made me so discouraged and unwilling to put too much effort in trying to look super cute each day. I am young and in a field with high stress, but I deserve better. Instead of maintaining the 150's I am ready to first return to my usual 135-140 range and SURPASS that and get down to 115. I am ready to look at what I eat and how much. I have always loved working out and I do so fairly frequently, but I think the key to my success will be changing my eating habits, getting more organized, incorporating 'fitness' in any way and planning ahead!

I am a medical student and I am SUPER busy All the time. So My goal is to work as hard as possible, to remain as focused as possible and to accomplish my goal of losing 35 pounds to weigh 115. So join me on my journey to success. For the record: I have been working out consistently and at a high intensity since June '08 with very few results on the scale. (Previous to this I was working out 3-5 days a week at a med intensity. But my diet was terrible. Lots of fast food)

I have however seen some changes in the way my clothes fit-depending on the clothes, confidence, mood, and inches. So now I'm ready for the weight to melt off!
Please Join me on my journey! :-) And ADD ME as your Friend, if you want ;) !
Ultimate Goal= 115
VERY Satisfied Goal = 125 w/ muscle tone!
Satisfied=125-135 w/ muscle tone and flat stomach!
(A way to gauge my success/ Not set myself up for disappointment)

-- might seem lenient but my point is that the number on the scale is IMPORTANT for my health and to prevent health issues but the truth is NONE OF US walk around with our weights broadcasted on our clothes... how I LOOK AND FEEL at the weight will be the most important for me!

~*~ Clothes-o-meter/ Clothes size I wear as I lose weight~*~
8.17.10 (wearing mostly 10's pants/8 dresses) - [My size 10 pants-o-meter from Old Navy can fit all the way on, but I can not zip or button - took a picture, but won't post. LOL]
11.29.10 I feel like I don't even where REAL clothes anymore. I usually am home studying. BUT after my test Thursday I will re-asses and continue striving towards my goal! I wear mostly 10's. Depends on brand. Some 10's are just right, some are tight. I am aiming for loose 10's and then 8's!

GONABFIT's Random Tips for success:
*These are really to remind me of what I am going to do to succeed!!! *
1. There is more than one way to judge success- I have not lost much weight. I am not at my goal... yet! BUT you know what there is more than one way to judge success! If you isolate your goal to only the scale you are sooooo likely to give up when you don't see the changes you want. If it takes me two years to reach my goal, will victory be any less sweet!? NOT IN MY OPINION! I will enjoy my goal weight WHENEVER I get it. and I will continue to work hard.
2. Focus more on your blessings than your disappointments- If you focus on the good in your life you will likely stay encouraged to keep going. Nothing good comes from focusing on negative things. Live, Learn, and move on!
3. Every decision brings you closer to or further from your goals- There is no single event that will bring you to your ultimate goal... so I am going to focus on each choice. Sleeping 8 hours brings me closer, pulling an all nighter leads me further from my goals. you get the point... :-)
4. Fiber, Fiber, Fiber- How can you ever lose weight if you never.... um.... get rid of waste. Enough said. LOL. Oh and also fiber helps weight loss. 25-35 grams.
5. Water it... and it will grow! - LOL seriously I have recently been drinking as much water as possible. The more water you drink the less you will eat to satisfy what is actually thirst.
6. Eat when you are hungry. Stop when you are satisfied... NOT FULL- I followed this rule 2 years ago and I seriously lost weight because I was not eating just because it was there. If I got hungry in 2 hours I ate. If I got hungry in 4 hours and started eating and quickly got full... I stopped eating.
7. IT IS NOT THE LAST SUPPER!!! - Seriously, sometimes we must remind ourselves that if you get "satisfied" in the middle of a meal, it is ok to STOP EATING!!!! It will be there when you get hungry again. And if someone is stealing your food.... hide it! lol!
8. SLEEP- the last time I lost weight and was really healthy I slept 7-8 hours a night. When you sleep your cortisol lowers, less stress hormone, less belly fat. You've seen the commercials! LOL- oh and I've oversimplified this. but these are the "rules" I'm going to use. :-D
9. Cardio + weights + flexibility- I am going to exercise WHENEVER I can. If it's a few squats while I am studying so be it. If its a 5 mile run while listening to a lecture... GREAT! I will do my best and then let it go. No point in focusing on how much more you could have done. Do your best and be done!
10. Believe, Act, Receive, a.k.a. You've got to see it, before you see it or you never will SEE it! - If you have no goal or can't even imagine how you will acheive your goal it is less likely that you will achieve it. BELIEVE you can do it, ACT- sometimes you have to step out in faith. even if you feel that you are too tired or busy to do another workout... workout anyway. because sometimes you have to do it whether you want to or not!, Receive it- If you refuse to give up you WILL eventually reach your goal!
11. Walk by faith not by sight- again... I trust God that the things I do are not in Vain. Every workout, ounce of sweat, tears, etc are bringing me that much closer to my goal. I have FAITH that my body is conspiring FOR me and that when I least expect it, my body will finally MELT the pounds off. and when that happens I will be SOOO proud that I kept the faith.
12. Exercise Early and often! The earlier the less likely I will get busy and feel that it is a burden :-D Because I actually LOVE workinf out... Endorphins are addictive!!!!
13. Never say negative things about yourself- YOUR BRAIN IS LISTENING!! ... and it believes everything it hears. So please, say nice things. you say you are a failure... and yes, you are a failure. You say, I am full of energy and I CAN finish this workout, eat healthy.... whatever, and watch how quickly your body listens to what you say!
14. ~*~There is no tomorrow~*~ Do it now, today, as soon as possible. You'd be surprised how quickly a day, week, month, year can slip by. You don't want the next 6 weeks to get here before tomorrow does... so If you want to eat healthy// workout/ relax/ pray/ write in your journal..... start right now, where you are. It's never too late to get started... :-) The time is NOW!
15.Love yourself now, forever, and always- We get one shot at life and I would hate to look back and realize that I've spent most of my life disliking the one constant person in my life! :-) You are beautiful, you are unique, and YOU DESERVE HAPPINESS. Deep deep happiness. Pure Joy that makes you look forward to each day
16. I, too, hate that people judge you when they feel you are a little overweight and I also dislike the fact that in my mind losing weight means "validating" their belief that you have to be 'thin to win' LOL

BUT... I also know that my happiness comes FIRST or at least near the top of my totem pole and as long as I know I have more qualities than just being "pretty" everything will be fine. :-)

*Bonus*- I will never never never never give up! AND I am going to enjoy this journey and learn as much as possible from every struggle!

I've started trying to USE WHAT I HAVE and take care of what I have... as a way to make sure I can handle more when I get it. (You may not understand this... but I do! lol)

I have started making substitutions in my diet... meaning I am collecting healthy recipes to substitute my favorite foods ;-). Smoothies, sweet potato fries, etc... Oh and I'm working on COOKING almost ALL of my own meals and packing my lunches! I'm a do-it-yourself type of woman and I LOVE being able to make my own food!
