Well, where to start?

I have been overweight since the third grade (I am 33 now). It has caused various health and self-esteem issues over the years, but recently I have become very much aware of the effect that my weight has on my health and longevity.

My life has been an interesting journey filled with triumphs and trials, and so many blessings.

I see now that if I want to serve God with everything that I have, I much take care of myself. I am also tired of being tired, and want to get out and be active. God willing, as I continue on with my journey, no matter where He calls me, I will also be able to continue losing weight.

Thank you for visiting my page, and feel free to drop me a line!

Pax et bonum!

My Goals:
My big goal is to get my BMI down to a healthy level so I can do the things I want to and be the best person I can be, in service to those around me.

Ad maiorem Dei gloriam!

My Program:
To lose 20 more pounds by December 31, 2018.

I have been using the nutrition tracker, three days of strength, three days of cardio, and whatever little things I can add in, such as parking further away from my destination.

Personal Information:
A devoted yet imperfect Catholic, I try my best to live my life according to His will, which includes taking care of my body as best as possible, something it took me a long time to realize. We need to make the most out of all the time He gives us, and that doesn't mean sitting on the couch playing video games all day long eating junk food (something I'm sure I could do very easily if I wasn't careful).

I am a transitional deacon for my Diocese. Lord willing, I will be ordained a priest in June 2019.

BACK BY POPULAR REQUEST------- Add these 10 new ideas to your snack list!

    .................................MORE 100 Calorie Snacks..............................

Snacks are great when planned. Snacks can be your worst weight loss enemy when you don’t think about portion size or nutrient content. A good snack will include some carbohydrate for energy and some protein or fat for that satisfied feeling (satiety). Fiber also helps with satiety. Below is a list of snacks that have no more than 100 calories. Keep this list handy for your grocery list.

    1) 3 cups of unbuttered air popped popcorn (90 cal and 1 fat) with spices and non‐fat “butter spray”

    2) 4‐6 ounces on non‐fat, no sugar added yogurt (100 cal and 0 fat)

    3) Mozzarella string cheese (80 cal and 6 fat)

    4) ½ cup low‐fat cottage cheese (82 cal and 1 fat) and ¼ cup unsweetened raspberries (16 cal and 0 fat)

    5) Hard boiled egg (78 cal and 5 fat) with raw veggies

    6) 5 dried apricots (100 cal and 0 fat)

    7) ½ banana (53 cal and 0 fat) and ½ cup no‐fat plain yogurt (40 cal and 0 fat)

    8) 10 Mini shredded wheat biscuits (34 cal and 0 fat) and 2 tbsp dried cranberries (45 cal and 0 fat)

    9) 1 oz turkey lunch meat (25 cal and 0 fat) and 1” cube cheddar cheese (68 cal and 6 fat)

    10) 3 oz non‐fat, sugar free chocolate frozen yogurt (91 cal and 0 fat)

There are also many products you can buy, such as 100 cal microwave popcorn or 90 calorie granola bars that can be snacks too. Make the most out of these convenience snack items by buying those made with whole grains, whole fruits and/or healthy fats.
