I am Debbie of the lost and confused. I work too hard and play to little.
I am having a hard time visualizing myself succeeding. So, at the recommendation of a friend I am going to write something positive about myself. I am very smart. I have earned a Master's degree. I did this while raising a family and working full time. I was also on scholarships. I finished my degree with no debt. I am very creative. I sew; do lapidary, silversmithing, wheel thrown pottery, stained glass windows. I love to travel. I love my awesome digital camera and the pics I can take with it. I am not afraid to try new things. I am going to get scuba certified this month. I like to take the road less traveled (meaning, I always try new routes to and from work). I think that everything can be a win/win situation. I seldom give up. I hate to admit defeat. Because of this I keep pushing forward. I am caring. I seem to always have a crisis somewhere, and so I have become very good at dealing with them.

My Goals:
It is my plan to become more healthy and hopefully look nicer in the process. I would like to compete in some athletic event this summer.

My Program:
Right now I am working at the gym 3-6 days a week. I am trying to make healthy food choices.

Personal Information:
I have two fantastic adult children a son and a daughter. They are almost perfect. I work too much and play too little. I really love to travel. I like most crafts especially photography, wheel thrown pottery stained glass, silver smiting, tole painting and others. I try to fix my own cars or I draft my son to do it. Next to the Monkee's my all time fav music is Linkin Park. I listen to everything from oldies pop country and finally Bag pipes.

You're as good as the Best and Better than the rest.

    Well it seems you can do everything else! Get some Zzz's, then fix the food and the weight will come off. Good luck and I think you are amazing!!! I love people who can handle life with no debt. Impressive! emoticon

    I read your blog about sleep and in reply to your question, "Yes, most likely, lack of appropriate amounts of sleep is putting a halt to your weight loss."
    I had the same issue. Sleep deprivation (especially long term sleep deprivation) causes your body to release a hormone that makes you "hungry" for junk food and your body tends to cannibalize its muscle mass first when you are tired all the time and trying to loose weight. Now that everyone else is grown maybe you should let them put out their own fires (or not start them to begin with) that way you can be a healthier happier person in your own life.

    YOu know... when your Ipod on with your favorite tunes and dancing down the street while walking is very invigorating. I turn my volume up and I don't even care who is watching me. I just want more warmer weather so I can go out! LOL emoticon
