Finishing local 5 mile race 2012 .... forgot to smile for the camera!

10k race a few years ago. I walked more than jogged but I felt so proud! Hope to do it again soon!

Update coming soon!

I've never had great eating habits and my bad habits were reinforced because for years I was able to maintain an ok (but not ideal) weight despite that. Well I guess it all caught up with me! Last year by Christmas I was 86kg, my heaviest ever. I had health problems which led to me being almost totally inactive and grabbing quick fix junk foods. Well those foods didn't fix anything!

Enough was enough and in January I started tracking my food. I didn't change my eating at first, I graduallly eased into that. It's not perfect but I think I am learning to make better choices.

I still don't exercise much but I am getting a little bit more active all the time.

I turned 40 this year and I think that has given me a push to want to be healthy in every aspect of my life. I had lost weight twice before with WeightWatchers ... and regained it! Both those times I was aiming to scrape into the "ok" zone. Now I am aiming higher - I am going to keep going until I'm in the best shape I can be. I'm also aiming to be physically fit for the first time in my life!

Wishing you happiness and success on your journey!

emoticon The Gift of Knowing You
    by Dave Stout

There are gifts of many treasures
For both the young and old,
    From the tiniest little trinkets
To great boxes filled with gold.

    But, put them all together
And they could not stand in lieu,
Of the greatest gift of all
    The gift of knowing you.

When your times are filled with troubles
    Sadness, grief, or even doubt,
When all those things you planned on
    Just aren't turning out.

Just turn and look behind you
From the place at which you stand,
And look for me through the shadows
And reach out for my hand.

I will lift from you your burden
And cry for you your tears,
Bear the pain of all your sorrows
Though it may be for a thousand years.

For in the end I would be happy
To have helped you start anew,
It's a small price to pay
For the gift of knowing you. emoticon You are awesome! Take care of you girl! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So how's it going these days? My dh was telling me he's working with a guy who recently came over from Ireland. The other day when we got our first snow storm I guess his reaction was priceless - he was flabbergasted by all the wet snow. I hadn't really thought about how different our climates can be. Hope all is well. Drop by sometime when you've got a moment. emoticon

I've already passed through Dublin on my virtual walk. I was waving frantically so I hope you saw me.
