After dying April 22, 2005 from cardiac arrest and being shocked twice by co-workers to bring me back....I feel I have to do everything I can to keep the new stents in my heart open and my body healthy. I got a second chance for some reason....I have to be healthy long enough to find out why.
For the last couple of years since I fell on the ice, it has been a challenge to exercise. My hip and leg hurt. I kept thinking it would get better. Finally, the end of December 2009, I went to my knee surgeon (double knee replacement in 2002) for a check up. He did x-rays of my hip and it was replaced Jan. 4, 2011. So, less pain when exercising should help my results! Another chance to be healthier!!!
Had the second hip replaced November 1, 2017, so ready to rock and roll!

You inspire me-I am 65, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren (2 started college this year.) I thought about doing this for a long time (like 5 yrs) and talked myself out of it b/c I felt too old to do it. I was in a coma for 7 days in Jan. for no apparent reason-after every test imaginable there is no answer as to 'why', so I move on. Now requiring a total reconstruction of my left ankle and foot, it shocked me that the surgery was postponed (9/13/19 due to high A1c. I am now insulin on a sliding scale to get this thing going. I need to do this (-65*) program for myself.. I'm 5'10 so I can hide it well, i'm just tired of hiding it! emoticon

I enjoyed reading about your challenges. Good luck on your weight loss. I am a retired music teacher with bilateral knee replacement, and I'm looking to lose 50 to 60 pounds.
