Fitness Minutes: 1,390

My Goals:
* Lose 83-90 lbs total
* Run a mile without stopping before 6-30-12
(Did it 6-15-12!)
* Run a 5k in October 2012
* Learn to cook a variety of healthy meals.
* To do all the things in life I passed on because I was too fat! :
-jump on the trampoline with my kids
-Hike Indian Creek and tackle the BIG stairs
(DONE 6-9-12)
-Ride a roller coaster/rides with my son without worrying that I may not fit in the seat.
-Ride bumper boats at GOTL.
- Go to a public pool or the beach and not spend my time feeling ashamed but rather enjoy my time swimming with my kids!
-Play outside more this summer
-Enjoy shopping for clothes that don't have an X in the size.

My Program:
Eliminate processed foods
Eat a variety of fruits and veggies
Lean meats
Whole grains
Healthy oils
No sugar (or at least VERY minimal)

Walk at least 30-45 minutes 2 days
Train for a 5K- 3 days per week
Interval training DVD daily to target my arms and abs.

1. I love the Lord Jesus. He is my strength, my Savior, my greatest friend and my greatest hope is in Him.
2. I am married to my high school sweetheart!
3. I have two wonderful little boys who melt my heart and make life an absolute joy.
4. I love nature. Birds, flowers, the is where I find myself most at peace.
5. I love taking walks on the beach with my family and searching for beach glass.
6. I am artsy and always seem to have my hands in some kind of creation! Making jewelry is my latest passion.
7. The book "Made To Crave" has helped me turn my cravings for food into a deeper and more personal craving for God. I LOVE that book and am forever grateful for what it has taught me.
8. I love the Ocean and all things tropical.
9. I have a goal to run a 5K in October. I'm curious if I will ever be able to run 3 miles!
10. I am going to reach my goal weight! Hold me to it!!

    Hey lady. Thanks for your comment on my status. Here is the secret that I JUST discovered this morning...SLOW DOWN. I have never been able to keep running more than 10 minutes. That was even a big deal for me. But...I was going at my "race pace". Today was my first time doing a LONG SLOW RUN (4 miles). I decided to go REALLY slow b/c I was also tired from my run yesterday.

    Literally could BARELY lift my feet for the first mile or so....then my body settled into it. Started out as a dragging shuffle, ended up as a jog. But I wasn't struggling for breath at ALL b/c I was going so slow. I just kept going and going and going! It was amazing! I've read about this in a book I just read (which is an AMAZING read for beginning runners) called "Run Your Butt Off". That...if you just slow down, it's a whole new world in running.

    The most amazing part...I ran the 5k distance (running the entire time...which I've never done) and it only ended up being about 4 minutes longer than my time when i'm running faster and taking walking breaks to catch my breath! Methinks I have a brand new racing strategy!
