I'm Dan - thanks for visiting my SparkPage. In October 2010 my family all got together to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Many of us struggle with weight and fitness. While talking to some of my siblings, we decided to challenge each other to a weight loss competition. I already wanted to do something about my weight, but this challenge was what I needed to get the ball rolling. What I thought would take less than one year is now in its second year. I guess I have to learn patience too. It hasn't been easy, but I'm committed to making permanent life style changes in order to reach my goal. Cycling is my activity of choice. I'm fortunate to live in a bike friendly area with lots of trails. I'm actually able to bike commute 12 miles each way for work almost entirely on biking trails. My wife, DenverPaula, enjoys running.
