My Husband's dog, Nipper. Nipper is supposed to be a dachshund but his legs are too long. He is such a clean dog! He never bothers anything in the house.

I am a reired Kindergarten teacher, librarian, and 6th grade teacher. I have been large all my life. I started off in life being a nearly 9 lb baby. I was 165 lbs. my senior year from highschool. I was considered fat then. My son looked back on my HS picture and said, " Mom you weren't fat", but back then everyone was lighter than they are now. I should have weighed 125-155.

I got married had a child and gained weight to 260. I lost weight and was back to 200, then all of a sudden, or so it seemed I was 255 again.. up up up went the scales and I was in denial of where I was on the scales. Next I hit 315 and hung there for years. I had to have back surgery and I lost weight but then it found me again after I remarried. I have been up to about 360 and lost down to 294. I want to go down to 150. My dad is a diabetic and I have been told that I am too.

I decided after the diabetic diagnosis to get a hold on my weight. I am down to 294 and feel so much better. I have always suffered from depression too so I have new medicine for that and that is helping tremendously! NEW NEWS! I AM OUT OF THE DIABETIC RANGE. MY DOCTOR TOOK IT OFF MY CHART. I WAS IN THE NORMAL RANGE AS OF OCT. 31, 2008. THIS WAS ACHIEVED BY WEIGHT LOSS.

Thanks for any help that I can get! I have to do this! We are the campground hosts this year and I am really loving that too.

Thanks for the message! Yes I love walking up in the mountains although sadly living in London I only get to do it about once a year. I went to Snowdonia a couple of years ago and climbed Cader Idris which was the first mountain I'd climbed after I'd hurt my ankle running. It was great to know I could still get up and down the hills although the fact I could hardly walk for a couple of days afterwards made me realise I needed to join the gym! The photo on my profile is from the Mamore range in central Scotland. This year I went to the Lake District although the weather was pretty wet! After being very fit as a runner about three or four years ago I got injured and had about a year of not being very active and putting on a bit of weight. I joined the gym last year and am much fitter now. Still a bit heavier than I was when I was running but I think I was a bit *too* thin then and I think you are allowed to put on a *bit* of weight as you get older! Either way I am not deliberately looking to lose any at the moment. Crikey I've written a book!

Good luck with your goals anyway!
