I'm 28 years old, and I'm not making this a New Year's Resolution, I'm making a decision to change my lifestyle for the better. I'm looking forward to using Sparkpeople as a tool in my arsenal, and I hope that I can find some support and be supportive for other people! Thank you for visiting!

A little more about me...

I am using the Weigh Down Workshop to increase my relationship with God and enjoy the side benefits of weight loss with obedience to God, not my greed. I know that I can't do this myself, I am relying number one on God, number two on support, and lastly on myself... I know I am the weak one in this equation! I look forward to many things as I'm on my weight loss journey, some of which include;

Shopping in the regular size area of department stores.
Not getting squeezed to DEATH in an airplane seat!
Not having that HORRIBLE feeling when you walk onto an elevator and you FEEL it lower and raise when you get in and out!
Having a sense of accomplishment as my mini goals are met.
Helping others as I'm helped, because without the support and encouragement things would be so much harder!!!


I think for myself that the weight I'm losing is the A#1 reward for the change in lifestyle and eating I'm making... The "rewards" will be mostly intangible side benefits that I am looking forward to anyway!....

Not being so self conscious when I'm hanging out with my friends that are thin... I'm getting there!

Hiking ~ I want to climb mountains! I'm content to
START with molehills.

Bicycling ~ For Fun!

Running ~ I used to do this at 170 lbs and it was a pleasure not a forced
cardio workout. When my weight is down I look forward to pounding
the pavement again.

Making my outsides match the way my insides feel! Fit, Confident, Able,
Secure, Sassy and Energetic!


To be under 250 pounds? I haven't been there since Jan '06

To be under 240 pounds? I haven't been there since Mar'05

To be under 230 pounds? I haven't been there since Feb '04

To be under 200 pounds? I can't remember when I was there!

To be under 168 pounds? I have NEVER been there as an adult, the last time
I remember weighing this was when I was 17 years old, and I looked
GREAT at this weight, I was jogging, and fit, and curvy and fabulous!

To be at my goal of 150 pounds? I can only imagine that I was 12 or so the
last time I was at this weight. I look forward to being there as my goal
weight, and as a place to see where I need to go on to from there. To see
if it's the peak of my mountain climbing experience of losing weight or
if it's the rise just below the bigger summit. We'll see.

My ONE REWARD, you ask???

Dancing Lessons. I want to strap on some high heels and a pretty dress and learn to change my uncoordinated shimmy into my own rewarding dance. This is something I VERY MUCH look forward to as my reward for hard work.

My goals are to get healthier, to sleep better at night as I have some apnea problems right now. I want to be able to climb a mountain! I want to be happy with myself, and look on the outside the way that I feel on the inside!

I joined Spark People on Jan 8th '08 but I really started changing my diet on Jan 1st

My Program:
I'm actually trying the Weigh Down Workshop and using hunger and fullness to guide my eating. I have some very bad habits that I'm trying to break with my emotional eating, so I'm really working on the psychology of me to lose weight.

    Hey there, it has been a while. How have you been doing lately? I hope that all is well. I have been trying for the last two months, but did not see the success I saw in January. It was quite frustrating. But this week I was able to lose 4 lbs. Thank goodness. That will help motivate me to keep trying. I only wish that the 3 months of not trying would not have been there. I am sure you know what I mean, at times. I hope that all is well. Keep in touch body twin!

    Hey! Just checking in to see how you are doing? Ive really gotten off track lately, but Im back 100% to lose more weight. I havent been doing good at all with eating right or exercsing. But I want this too much just to give up, so Im back! Hopefully you are doing good!
