After I turned 30, I really started to pack on the weight. Prior to that I worked out sporadically - mostly for fun, but never took weight loss seriously. I had been on Weight Watchers once in my 20s and lost about 7 pounds. That was 20 years ago (now 44), and it was also the last time I lost any appreciable weight on a diet. I'm here now on SP to reverse that. I have been on countless diets over the last 20, and I have never lost any weight. I say I'll go on a diet, and I literally forget two hours later. I join WW and forget to count points after the 2nd day. I only remember the morning I have to go to weigh in. I'll exercise for awhile and then blow it off. I'm not a fan of exercising. I has never developed into anything near an addiction for me. If I have the time to huff and puff, then that's time I could use to read a good book has always been my motto. But I'n sick of being big. And the weight I promised to lose by 35, and then by 40 is still here and I'm closing in on 45, so it's time. It's past time.

SP has been easier to do than I anticipated. This is a very robust site and I've been more vigilante than usual. My big, big problem is eating at night, and getting little sleep. I work all day, and do freelance writing at night, and I have a toddler who rarely sleeps through the night [even at age 2], so often I eat just to stay awake. I'm more conscious of this bad habit, and working to break it, by drinking water or a glass of wine [which I actually record on SP]. I have managed to cut down on how much I eat at night, but not nearly enough. Well, see...

Fitness Minutes: 145

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to the weight I was at 24. A rather effortless, 125. I'm short, so I never looked skinny, but it was a good weight for me, and unfortunately I took it for granted. I'm 44 now and I can't roll back the years to 24 (not that I really want to), but I can do something about my weight.

My Program:
Yikes! Do I really eat that much? This has become a common refrain, lately. Being mindful of what I eat by using the Nutrition Tracker is very helpful. It is almost impossible for me to get away to the gym, so I have started walking after lunch at work. Good stress-reliever, too.

Personal Information:
I am a writer and married mother of two active very young boys, who works outside the home and has a very long commute.
