GOODBYE 2009! I was born and raised in Southern California and my husband's job relocated us to VA. He had to start his job right away in Dec. 2008, which I stayed behind in CA with my kids until Aug.2009. It was very difficult to be away from my husband for so long. I really wanted to lose weight before moving here, but with ALL the responsibilities of the kids, the house, and the move, my emotions were stretched thin at times. I did spend alot of time hiking with friends (since I was practically single), but didn't do good with my eating habits. So weight loss did not happen for me.
When I finally arrived to VA in August, I think I was in culture shock or something and was quite upset for awhile. I thought the humidity was gonna kill me, my husband moved us to the middle of nowhere which looked like a campground to me, not to mention my husband and I were used to living without each other for 8 months and now we had to "get to know" each other again. Plus I REALLY missed my friends.
It took me a good 3 months to love my new house and surroundings, and to embrace the different weather here. I have quite a commute to and from work (actually it's the darn traffic!) I solved this problem by joining a gym next door to my work, so now I go to the gym after work while I wait for the traffic to die down.
So, now that things have finally settled down (I know, things don't really settle down), I'm ready to start focusing on myself and getting healthy and fit.

Anytime you need a pick me up I'll be there.....on that note I am here going through 103 email notifications from Spark because I missed a few days. And, I don't think I will be getting perfect attendance any time soon since I missed logging in the last day or April and the first day of May!! emoticon

Oh well, there is always tomorrow! emoticon

I miss you too!! We really need to meet up sometime. Believe me, I totally need a swift kick in the rear too. I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds over and over. My monthly goal has been to hit 232 since February and I have yet to hit it, and probably won't hit it by May 4th which was the next date I had it set for. Eventually I guess.

I lived in NoVa for about 15 years off and on. Loved it. I use to go to the wineries on weekends and walk their fields. Excellent exercise and then treated my self with a glass of red when we finished. Red has health benefits! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the comment. I am soooo glad to hear I inspired you to use the nutrition tracker because ... from me to you ... I guarantee you will have success if you use the tracker (and stay in your range.) Do you hear me? I GUARANTEE IT!!

When I look back at all the things I tried I just shake my head. I always knew I could lose weight if I just ate the correct amount of calories but there was no way to count them easily. Spark's nutrition tracker took care of that problem and now I can manage my calories like a business.

Prepare yourself for victory and ... you won't need luck but ... GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!
