I've struggled with weight and food issues since my teens, and throughout the years have tried all sorts of ways (both sensible and not) to reach and maintain a healthy weight. My attempts were usually successful in the short term, but at some point along the way each time I got discouraged, gave up, and went back to my old ways, quickly regaining all the weight I'd lost (and usually adding several pounds on top of it).

It's not until recent years that I started learning that what's important is to NEVER GIVE UP, and that the journey is the reward. Though I still stumble and fall, getting up again means that I will be... that I AM!... a success, and will eventually achieve my long-term goals.

I've had great success in the past through following the Weight Watchers program, and after a long break from attending meetings I rejoined in January, 2010. This time around I'm going to try to incorporate Clean Eating principles into the plan as well. I'm very fortunate in that my husband joined Weight Watchers along with me, so we'll be attending meetings together and can support each other along the way.

I have a long way to go until I reach my final weight goal... and in the process, I know that I need to find a way to make good eating and exercise habits PERMANENT so that plateaus and life circumstances don't become stumbling blocks... so I'm looking to SparkPeople for added motivation and support throughout my journey.

I know I can do this!
