I really believe that its going to work this time. I've been doing this since July of 2007 and I feel like I'm in a marathon rather than a sprint, the tortoise rather than the hare: slow and steady will win this race.

I finally kicked my last weight-loss plateau, which is good. It didn't really change much, though; I'm still just plowing along, trying to do everything right. I'm also savoring my progress so far and enjoying the added benefits of feeling better, looking better, being more alert and happy, and receiving lots of compliments. With these to hang on to, the rest of the journey shouldn't be too hard.

My Program:
I'm on the "French" diet (that's what my friends at work call it): I eat what I want, but smaller portions. Portion size is my nemesis, so that's where my greatest focus lies. I'm also trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables, as well as more fiber.

I ride the bus to work 4-5 days each week, which automatically forces me to walk at least 15 minutes every day. I also do 20-30 minutes of cardio 3 days a week and (try to do) strength training 2 days a week.

My name is Aurora, I'm 27 years old, and I live in a suburb of Denver. I'm married and my husband and I have 4 "kids": 3 cats and a dog. I'm in health care on the admin side, but I'm planning to leave work to go to nursing school full time in January 2008.
