32yo medical professional. I have a heart condition and know that it would be better for me to lose weight. My first weight loss journey brought my daughter and I'm truly blessed. Now with ever more time constraints.. it's time to restart. I have a supportive spouse, a tough job, and built in toddler exercise. I am huge into low carb living as well as scratch cooking, I even bake low carb. I'm a product of 2 diabetics and hug a very low carb routine to lose any weight at all. Baked good and still living under 10 NET carbs a day, just ask me how :) If anyone knows of good OAMC atkins recipes, shoot them my way!

My Goals:
I hope to loose all 170lbs I've collected 172 since college, which is more than twice of me now. I really hope to get the 70lbs I put on in graduate school. Baby steps. I felt hot then. I would like that feeling, but more... I want to have a child and not fear I'm going to die to do it. So. Cheers. Time to do some of the dirty work.

My Program:
Atkins, oamc, eliptical, toddler chasing, biggest loser contest at work (ends 6/13), and SP social encouragement.

Personal Information:
I like videogames, reading, dnd, minatures, boardgames, and probably every sedentiary recreation known to mankind.
I used to.. fit into a kayak, fit into my scuba wetsuit and bc, and used to use a public pool without feeling bad about taking off my sarong. Hrm.. but damn it if being fat keeps me fat. So no excuses!

    I LOVE the Atkins Diet, and I am excited that you have joined the team. So Welcome, welcome, welcome! I hope you become an active member so that we all can enjoy your company! It is gonna be slow going getting started --the team has no leader, and it IS January after all -- but with some enthusiasm shown by all the new members, we can really make it happen and get close and be supportive - or make the weight go away; I am good with that!

    Incidentally, there are a few long time active members (I am one), so there is good support out there to be had for the asking. Again, welcome and glad to have you!

    Hey Girl! I found you by looking for other low carbers. I am on my thirds day of Atkins. I read "What Makes Us Fat" by Gary Taubes this weekend and it just made me realize that I need to lower my carbs. I've been doing low carb/low Glycemic Index with Metabolism Miracle since July and I had lost about 5 pounds. However was feeling so much better without the moodiness from low blood sugar swings. But, I need to be losing weight and Gary Taubes book helped me to see that some people are more carb sensitive than others and I need less carbs to lose. SO...I am in this with you. We can do it.

    Thanks guys! First goal. Get out of 300 range and maybe start to admit to folks what I weigh... yikes! I shield it when I type in what I way on the exercise machine. Like the random folks around me find it LESS conspicuous if I do that, lol. But hell, it doesn't stop me from exercising.

    Goal of 4 weeks at gym achieved. Time to get some exercise clothing, now that I know I'm sticking with it.

    Thanks for the nice words. I think the whole world could use more support at times.

    Welcome to the 300+team Daria. 300 is such a BIG number but if we persevere, focus and motivate one another we can reach our goals!
    We have so much of life ahead of us and it is so much better to work on ourselves and reach for our goals.
    We can do it-- we are worth the effort!
    All we can do is take it one day, one bite, one pound at a time.
