This is my introduction to blogging. I've been meaning to do it for a while, but I just never took the time to do it.

I am 51 years old, married to a wonderful man, Gabriel and am the mother of 6 (birthed & blended). We have 3 dogs and 1 cat. We have a wonderfully adorable grandson (do I sound biased?) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to cook. I was born in Brooklyn and raised (yes I was raised) in New Orleans. I moved to Atlanta in 1993 and I still consider New Orleans home. LOL! I am a Saints/Eagles fan (a divided house WILL stand)!

I am on the journey because I am tired of being tired and having no energy. I have a beautiful 15 month old grandson that loves to play and I want to play with him. My family has been very supportive of me and my husband has been my cheerleader and encourager.

In the past I've lost 50# or 60# and get side tracked and gain it back. That is my past and I intend to leave it there. This time I am determined to get to my goal and stay there. I know there will be good days and bad days, and this time I will not let my bad days turn into bad years. I also have worthiness issues. Now I wake up and tell myself "I am a child of God and I am worthy of being the best I can be and thru Him I can do all things that He has destined for me."

When I started my journey this time, May 24, 2011 - the day our son Jordan left for the Army I weighed 276.6#. Today, August 24th I weigh 249 ... 27.6# and counting! Friday mornings are my weigh-in days and that helps keep me on track on the weekends. My husband will get up early on Sat and Sun and walk with me. My sistafriend is my personal trainer and she is wonderful. I have all the tools and this time I am determined to get and stay at my goal. I have a SistaFriend that has a raw food restaurant and her mantra is "Stop die*ting and start living" so this is my mantra - No more DIE*Ts and on to LIVING!

So join me on my journey. Next stop - learning to post pictures!

"You are capable and worthy of being and doing anything.
You just need the discipline and determination to see it through.
It won't come instantly, and you may backslide from time to time, but don't let that deter you.
Never give up. Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is final.
Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew."
