Freedom is mine in 2021!!!!!!!
I am continuing my journey to be medicine free and I will succeed.......
My goal has not changed - to be more active. Anything I do will be an improvement over 2020. The winter challenge starts in a few days and I will participate in all the activities to build consistency. I have also joined another team where I can keep track of my daily activity
My goals for 2019 are the same. Be more active and develop healthy habits.

My goals for 2019 are the same. Be more active and develop healthy habits.
The only goal I have for 2018 is to be more active.
2018 Summer Challenge started today.
June 30, 2018
I have been successful in meeting my goal to be more active. I am walking 5-6 days a week a minimum of 30 minutes and have recently added riding the exercise bike. The goal is to get an hour of cardio everyday working towards 90 minutes --for the rest of my life. I am not consistently meeting the hour daily yet but am close most days and doing a lot more than I was.
I still fall short in strength training. I am going to set up a home routine as primary and use the gym machines when I can. I am still working this one out.
April 7 2017

Update December 29.2016
Winter 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment

Take three 15 minute walks at work on breaks and before starting day
M - F, if in the office. If working at home ride exercise bike.
Ride bike on Saturday or Sunday
My overall goal is to be more active I will add in some yoga or spark people videos in the evenings M / W / F
Update December 28, 2015
I am continuing with the 5% Challenges. It makes me face my weight every week and I am beginning to see how my day to day activities affect it. My goal is still to be medicine free and in 2016 I will put everything I have into staying on track. 2015 brought a lot of changes to my life and for the first time in over 30 years the only person I have to take care of is me.
Update September 10, 2015.
I will be starting the Fall Challenge in a couple weeks. This will be the first time I can be fully committed and I plan to do just that. I really want to make strength training a priority. It seems to fall to the bottom of the list when life gets busy. I manage to do cardio so the goal here is to increase my time and number of times.
June 2015.......
I am looking forward to the Summer Challenge. During the next 8 weeks I hope to meet the 5% goal and develop some good habits. I will do this by eating a plant based diet and my favorite exercise, walking. I will also do some strength training at least 3 days a week.
Update January 1, 2013.........
I decided it was time to update my goals or fine tune them. My goal is still to be medicine free but now I see I must put my plan to get there in writing.
Habakkuk 2:2 says Write the vision and make it plain.
In the first phase of my plan for this year I comitt to tracking my food daily and exercising at least 10 minutes every day. I know just doing these two things will make a big difference in my health. That is all for now. I will update my plan as needed. Right now the biggest need is for consistency in these two areas.
More to come..........

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthy!
I will do this by eating right and exercising.
I don't want a bunch of rules to follow. I have found the McDougall plan the easiest route to take so far. Eat Starches period. I am going to commit to this way of eating for 2016 and evaluate my progress in one year.
My exercise goals will be to increase strengh training and continue with the cardio. I go to the gym now but am working on getting equipment in my home so the weather will not impact my ability to workout.
My Program:
Whole Foods Plant Based
Personal Information:
Other Information:
In August 2015 I entered a new phase of my life. Empty nest. It still feels strange but for the first time in over 30 years when I come home the only person I have to take care of is me.
I am using this challenge as a guide to do just that.
